Tonight, at approximately 10:00PM, EST, Baron von Schultz, the family dog for IrishGirl, her parents, and myself, passed away.
Baron was a happy, fun-loving dog. He enjoyed nothing more than squeaking his orange football, playing 'keepaway' with me, and snuggling next to IrishGirl as she slept.

When IrishGirl first brought him home, his eyes were alight with the excitement of moving to a new home. He came to us at seven years young, but he was just a puppy at heart. His energy level and outpouring of love made the next two years of our lives the happiest yet.

Baron was so much more than just a dog. He was a son to IrishGirl's parents, and a brother and companion to us all. He hugged and kissed us when we were sad, he sat and cuddled when we were lonely, and he played and barked when we were happy.

He also sat on us occasionally.
We can never tell you how much we love you, Baron.
Sleep peacefully, pup.

Oh man, that's so sad. What a beautiful guy he was. He looks like a really good friendly dog that was a big part of the family and loved by all. My heart goes out to you and Irish, Viper. God Bless.
Rest in peace, Baron.
You have my deepest condolences. Losing the K9 memeber of the family is so difficult. I'm sure he gave you many great memories. I am sorry for your loss. :dog:

Viper, we saw each other in the chat last night, and talked about this, but I wanted to post it here as well. I am so sorry for you, Irish, and her parents about the loss of Baron. Losing a pet is truly losing a member of the family. My thoughts are with you guys.

aww Mark that's so sad..what a beauty of a dog...hug Meg for me..and tell her to pm me anytime she wishes..losing a pet is the hardest thing ever..i would suggest after a certain amount of time has passed, to maybe consider getting her another dog...up to you all of course..and not to take the place of that wonderful dog Baron, but to help fill the emptiness you and she are feeling in your hearts..
nice tribute btw hon...

It's very easy to see how much you loved your dog--I know people that didn't get this kind of a send-off!
I'm very sorry you lost your pet; it's been almost a year since my kitty Bobby died in my arms. If there's a heaven for pets, I'm sure Baron made it in!

Aw what a lovely friendly looking doggie.
I'm so very sorry to hear your news, sounds to me like he had a lot of people around him that loved and cared for him, I'm sure he knew this his whole life.
Its awful losing a pet I lost my cat last July and to this day I still miss him and have tears like you wouldn't believe and I'm not ashamed of it either.
At least you have Irish and your families to support you and like Mel said thats a very fine tribute and its obvious how much he meant to all of those that knew him.
Take care :cuddle:

These ANGELS in Animal Fur are not only our pets; they're Our FRIENDS.
A friend who knows:
when you're Happy & want to play,
when you're Sad & need cheering up,
when you're Lonely & need company or
Home Sick and just need a little sympathy.
Check out the Rainbow Bridge and watch the little flash-movie together
it'll bring a tear to your eyes but you can see you're not alone & it brought me to a full appreciation of what Animals do for us.
In fullest sympathy with your sorrow-

I'm sorry to hear that Viper.I wont repeat what everyone else said, but i know how you all feel.
I am so sorry for you all. I have often seen both you and Irish talk and gush about Baron, and your combined love for him was obvious to anyone caught in passing. My heart goes out to you guys as you say goodbye to this wonderful creature who brought you so much happiness and love. Losing a pet is NEVER easy, but losing one who made your world that much better for just being in it is one of the hardest things in the world. My love to you both.

I am so sorry about the death of your dog! I know all too well how you feel. I have owned dogs almost my whole life, and the worst days were clearly the days when they passed. I have a dog now, and everyday is one day closer to the day I absolutely dread. She is 11 now.
Our deepest condolences to you and Meg.
BTW, Baron was one handsome creature. German Shepards happen to be one of my favorite breeds.
I remember a website that a friend used for his son to set up a memorial for his dog when he died a few months ago. It might be painful now because the hurt is so fresh, but when (and if) you are ready, you can set up a memorial to honor the memory of Baron. You are probably familar with it, but I'll send it anyway. It's called the Rainbow Bridge

Wow, what is going on around here, it seems like everyone is losing a pet every other day. Well, I am sorry to here about Irishgirls dog. Like I've said before, when we had to put my bud king down it was rough. I hope she will be ok, like I said it's rough to lose your pet.
