The Good Guys embarked on their second road trip of the year. After they won three in a row in Pittsburgh, things went sour. They went to Chicago, and lost two of three there, and then moved on to St Louis, getting swept in the three game series at that stop of the trip. The Paradise Island team returned home, on Sunday night, having lost five of their last six games, tired, and happy and eager to play before the home fans.
During most of the road trip, Naomi was not around at night. With her children now grown, and often off with their own lives, she tired of sitting in the apartment while Mitch was away, tuned into the team's games, waiting for the contests to end, and for his late night phone calls. Many times, while the team was on the road, she couldnt even bring herself to watch the games, as, watching the action made her wish that she was out there, on the road with the team, something she had not done since before her children were born.
It was a very tired and irritable Mitch, who arrived home from St Louis on Sunday evening. He came through the apartment door, and was happy to see Naomi:" There's the best thing I've seen in ten days. What a fucking awful trip" Mitch said, kissing Naomi on the lips, and holding her. "You look so tired. I'm happy to have you home. What an awful time you guys had this trip". Naomi said, cuddling in Mitch's arms. "I'll be okay. A good night's rest, some decent food, time with you. I'll be ready to get em tomorrow night. Gotta be ready for those Giants. They're tough" Mitch quipped. After Mitch showered, and changed, Naomi offered to make him dinner, or call in for food, but Mitch said he wanted to eat out:" I'm okay. Let's go for some steak and lobster, and go play in the casino a little bit. That will recharge my batteries. I need to just chill, and to forget about baseball, and about who I am, for twenty four hours" Mitch said. When the couple got to the hotel, they ordered a huge steak and lobster dinner, and Mitch, slowly relaxing, sat with Naomi in an intimate booth, in a dark corner of the resturant. "The road sucks, Nai, it's terrible. I wish I could play 162 home games. I mean, we stay in good hotels, and get meal money, but the going from city to city, the sleepless nights, the heckling from the fans. It's so nice to live ten minutes from the ballpark, and to hear tens of thousands of fans cheering your name every night. On the road, all they want you to do is to strike out, blow a save, fuck things up, or drop a fly ball" Mitch said. "Well, when the other guys come here, I dont think our fans stage a love in for them either, so, its only fair that they should have their people watch them, and root them on, right?" Naomi reasoned. "I guess. I mean, it could be worse. I once knew a team in the minor leagues, that was an exclusively road team, with no home, so they were always on the road. Everywhere they went, the fans got on them. At least 81 days a year, we can be cheered, which is a good thing." Mitch replied. The couple went home that night, and made love, things seemingly calm, as Mitch tried to get himself up mentally for the next night's game.
The next evening, at 7:35, the Good Guys took the field for the opening game of their nine game homestand, and for the first game against the Giants. Kate Hudson was the starter that night. Kate didnt have her A game stuff, as she allowed three runs in six innings, and struck out only five, her fastball clocked at 89 to 91 miles per hour, instead of the usual 93 to 95 miles per hour. Fortunately, as aces do on nights they dont have their good stuff, Kate kept the team in the game. The Good Guys were tied, 3-3 in the sixth, when they pushed across a run. They got two more in the eighth, and came away with a 6-3 opening game win. After the game, Sniderman was asked about the ragged game his team had played. "Ragged? We won 6-3. Kate had a quality start. She wasnt Nolan Ryan tonight, but she got the win. My kids are dog tired from that road trip, mentally, having lost five of six. I am proud that we won tonight, now, hopefully we recharge our batteries, and go on to have a good homestand" The manager said. The next night, Gil Bellows was the starter. The Good Guys more relaxed now, they hit three solo homers in the opening inning, and built a 5-0 lead. Bellows cruised along until the seventh, when he suddenly allowed two solo homers. Naomi gave up an additonal gopherball in the eighth, before Hilary Duff came in to settle the proceedings, and the Good Guys walked away with a 5-3 triumph. Charlize Theron had the ball on Wednesday night. She gave up two runs in six innings, but the team got absolutely none, falling 2-0.
Thursday was an off day. After a calm counesling session in the morning, Mitch and Naomi joined the team at the hotel in the afternoon, winning $500 at the horses and game tables. It was a much needed day of rest.
San Diego came to town on Friday night. It was Neve Campbell's turn to pitch. Neve had a 3-0 lead into the eighth, and was sailing along, when she suddenly ran into a buzzsaw. A couple of hits and a home run later, the game was tied, and, it went to extra innings, where the Good Guys finally won it, in the tenth, on a Mitch homer, 4-3. Rachel Leigh Cook took a bad beating on Saturday night, getting hit for nine runs in less than two innings, of an 11-4 thrashing. Kate Hudson had the ball on a sunny, brilliant, 84 degree Paradise day, in front of a standing room only sellout. That day, Kate looked like Kate, dominating the Padres on but one hit over the first seven innings, while fanning a dozen San Diego batters. The Good Guys broke open a scoreless tie in the seventh, off San Diego ace Jake Peavy, coming up with two runs. Kate sailed through the eighth, and went out to the mound for the ninth, allowing a hit. The crowd booed as Sniderman came to the mound, as the sellout gathering wanted their ace to finish the game. Sniderman knew that a tiring Kate, and a two run lead, were a bad combination. He wanted to win the game, not a popularity contest with the fans. Hilary Duff came in, and quickly set the Padres down, ending the game in happy fashion for the Good Guys and their fans, finishing off the 2-0 victory. After the game, Sniderman was asked why he made the move:" Kate was exhausted, she had thrown 114 pitches, and the tying run was at the plate. We play for the fans, but I'm the manager. I have to do whats best for the team. I cant worry about fans booing me, because they want to see Kate strike out a hundred batters a week, and finish games. I have to do whats best for all of us. If I had left her in, and she had served up a fat pitch, leading to a homer, I would have been booed anyway, and it would have been bad for all of us, so, I'd rather get booed, take her out, win the game, and celebrate afterwards.
The next night, the Good Guys began the final series of the homestand, against the Dodgers. Gil Bellows took the start, and got racked around, allowing five runs in five innings. The Good Guys tried to rally in the ninth, but fell short, falling 5-4. Charlize Theron was the starter on Tuesday night. Charlize, angry at her lack of run support in her last start, was determined to allow no runs this time. She kept her determination, shutting out the Dodgers, and striking out nine. On the offensive side, the Good Guys got one highlight, a three run homer from Ed Burns. It was all enough, to get Charlize the complete game shutout, 3-0. Neve Campbell had the ball on a sunny, 86 degree day, in front of a sellout, in the homestand's last game. That day, Neve was very sharp, allowing but one run in six innings. The game was tied, 1-1 in the eighth, when Mitch came up, and thrilled the fans with a Grand Slam homer. Things got dicey in the ninth, as the bullpen gave up two runs in relief of Neve, and allowed the Dodgers to put the go ahead runs on base. Duff finally settled down the proceedings, and the Good Guys got the win in the end, to finish off a 5-3 Paradise Island win, that completed a fine six and three homestand. Baseball was sailing along on the field, and off the field, things seemed very quiet between Paradise' s royal couple.
In the meantime, the team held it's Saturday night tickle party, following the loss to the Padres. The featured lee would be manager Sniderman, who agreed to be tickled, if the team had a good homestand, which they were having. Sniderman stripped to his boxer shorts, and was tied hands and feet to the bed in the middle of the fetish club. Several older and younger female doms entered the club, and approached the bound manager. One older dom began the tickle on Sniderman's neck with fingers, as his head moved, and the laughter began:HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA! Working down, two other doms took over, attacking Snidermans pits, sides, ribs, and belly with fingers, as he began to thrash at his restraints. :HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA! Moving down, two more doms joined in, tickling Sniderman on his hips, inner thighs, and knees with fingers, causing his legs to jerk:HAHAHAHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAA! Finally two hot doms, one dark haired, and one light, positioned themselves at Sniderman's feet. They attacked the managers feet with fingers, feathers, ice, and two electric toothbrushes over his somewhat rough soles. Nonetheless, despite his age, Sniderman was still ticklish on his feet, as he jerked them and howled:HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAA! TWO DOMS AT ONCE IS TOUGH! OKAY! OKAY! ENOUGH! I GIVE! NOOOO! HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHA! Finally, the tickle ended, and the manager was untied.
On Thursday, in the late afternoon, Naomi drove Mitch to Nassau International Aiport, so that he could catch the team flight to San Fransisco. "We had a very quiet homestand this time, no drama. It was nice. Now, go off, play well, hopefully better than last time, and I will see you next Sunday night when you get home" Naomi said, kissing him.
So, it had been a very quiet homestand indeed, with baseball dominating the focus, instead of fights. Now came a ten day California road trip. Would the good times keep rolling for Mitch and Naomi? That answer to come in the continuing story of the Tickle Team From Paradise Island.

The End

Well at least the Good Guys managed to recover at their own home. It can be tough playing away. I remember my football days and how that was not much of a treat, especially at our rival's place. Another great one and I look forward to the next one.

Thank you, happy, your praise is appreciated as always. Yes, road games can be very difficult. Playing at home, especially on a tropical, beautiful island as the Good Guys do, is much easier.
As you know, stay tuned, there will be more to come soon.

Mitch
