The Good Guys embarked on their next road trip. They began well, by winning two of three in Washington. Then, things went a bit sour, as they were swept three in a row in Philadelphia, before recovering, and winning two of three in Cincinnatti. The road trip finished four and five, but could have been a lot worse, with the three losses in Philadelphia. The Good Guys returned home, on a Sunday night, to begin a nine game homestand, against the teams they had began the season with.
In recent weeks, Mitch and Naomi had been getting along very well, with no cyber wars, or telephone screaming matches, or threats of the guest room. In fact, things had been going so well, that Naomi was reaching a point where she was beginning to miss Mitch terribly when he was away on road trips. When Mitch arrived home, on Sunday night, the couple went to a long, romantic dinner at Cafe Martinique. After dinner, they gambled for a bit in the casino. When they got home, Naomi removed her shoes, and gave Mitch her bare feet, which he promptly put in his face. "I'd get up the ladder, but I'm a bit tipsy, from the wine, and I'm afraid I might fall" Naomi said. "Tomorrow then" Mitch said. The couple made love, and held each other, talking, for a very long time. "It's times like this that dont make me scared of life after baseball. The way we're getting along now, we could retire, after this year, if we win the Series, leave the island, and go anywhere, and be blissfully happy and in love. I hope this continues for the rest of the season, so that, if we make a decision to pack baseball in at the end of the year, we can move to another life, and everything will be okay" Naomi said, kissing Mitch.

The Good Guys broke a 1-1 tie in the sixth, scoring four times, and then hanging on, for a 5-3 victory.
Thursday was an off day. The couple showed up to counesling, and the therapist had a quip for them:" The way you two are getting along, it makes me think that maybe you dont have to come here anymore" "It has been nice, but I think we will continue to come. Hopefully we are on the right direction, but, in case issues arise" Mitch said.
Atlanta came to town on Friday night. Neve Campbell was the starter. She got hit hard by the Braves, allowing four runs in six innings. The Good Guys were tied, 4-4 in the eighth, when they finally pushed across the go ahead run. Hilary Duff got the save in the ninth, and the Good Guys walked away 5-4 winners. Rachel Leigh Cook had the ball on Saturday night. She allowed only three runs, but the Good Guys could get absolutely none, and dropped the game, 3-0. Kate Hudson opposed John Smoltz, on a sunny, 89 degree, but dry, Paradise Island day, in front of a sellout. Both pitchers, as expected were throwing heat that day. Smoltz fanned twelve Good Guys in eight innings, with Mitch going down four times, and Kate punched out fifteen Braves, including the Jones boys, Chipper and Andruw, three times apiece. The game was scoreless into the ninth, when the Good Guys finally pushed across a run, to come away with a 1-0 win.
Houston entered Paradise on Monday night, in the homestand's last series. Gil Bellows had the ball on Monday. He pitched a better game than the previous outing, allowing but two runs in seven innings, as the Good Guys came from behind, scoring five runs in the seventh, for a 6-2 lead, and an eventual 6-3 victory. Charlize Theron took her turn on Tuesday. She got hit around, allowing five runs in her six innings of work. The Good Guys could not rally this time, coming within a run in the ninth, but falling short, 5-4. Neve Campbell had the starting assignment, on a hot, humid, 90 plus degree day, in front of a sellout. Neve gave up three home runs, running out of gas after five innings on that brutally hot day. The game was tied, 4-4 in the eighth, when Mitch hit a grand slam. The bullpen nearly gave it back in the ninth, as Duff allowed a run, and allowed Houston to load the bases, before finally striking out the last batter for the last out of the game, to preserve an 8-5 Paradise Island win, that completed a fine six and three homestand. On field, the games had been challenging, but the team came out just fine. Off field, it was doubtful that Mitch and Naomi had seen such bliss for a while, and, as the team packed to head to New York, things were going just great.
In the meantime, the team held it's Saturday night tickle party. The featured lees would be Nicole Kidman, who was visiting Paradise that week to take in some games, and, it was rumored, was trying to get Naomi to do a movie with her. The two beautiful Australians were tied hands and feet to the bed in the middle of the fetish club. "He gets excluded from tickling me tonight, because he's my husband, he gets my feet enough times a week" Naomi quipped.
