The Good Guys finished the regular season in fine fashion, and seemed ready, and focused for the playoffs, with only one acceptable outcome in mind.
The march to the championship began on a Tuesday, in Paradise, against the Central Division champion St Louis Cardinals. Kate Hudson, of course, would be the starter. Kate was great, allowing but one run, in six innings. The game was tied, 1-1, in the sixth, when the Good Guys came up with three sixth inning runs. The bullpen took the team the rest of the way, and brought home a 4-1 win. Game Two was Wednesday afternoon. Gil Bellows had the start. Paradise erupted for five runs early, and thirteen overall, in a 13-4 thrashing, that put them in the driver's seat in the series, with only one more win needed to advance to the Championship Series.
The teams flew to St Louis, and, after an off day on Thursday, met at Busch Stadium in St Louis on Friday night. Charlize Theron was the starting pitcher that night. The Good Guys took a big early lead, but could not hold it, as Charlize got hit hard. The Good Guys went ahead again, but finally succumbed, in the ninth, by a 7-6 score. In Game Four, with Kate Hudson starting again, the game was over early. Paradise scored six times in the first three innings of the game, and, led by Kate's stellar six shutout innings, never looked back, in what was an 8-3 win, to finish the first round, and advance to the National League Championship Series against the Mets on Tuesday night.
The Good Guys flew home, and had three days to rest, before the start of the NLCS. They took advantage of it, wanting to savor every last drop of rest.
The NLCS began on Tuesday night in Paradise. Gil Bellows would get the start. Met starter Tom Glavine got hit hard, and the game was not easy, but the Good Guys got four runs, and hung on, as Duff got the outs she needed in the ninth, to come away with a 4-3 win. Charlize Theron had the ball on Wednesday night. Charlize got hit a bit, allowing three runs, but the Good Guys offense was again working, as they hit three homers, good for five runs, as the bullpen again saved the day, in a 5-3 triumph, that put them halfway to the World Series.
The teams flew to New York for the middle games of the series. After an off day on Thursday, Kate Hudson would have the start in Shea Stadium on Friday night. Met starter Oliver Perez was good, allowing only one run in six innings, but Kate was better, shutting out the Mets on but three hits, and getting help from Duff in the ninth, to put Paradise one win from the World Series, with a 1-0 win. Gil Bellows had the ball again for Game Four. He pitched very well this time, allowing but one run in six innings. The Good Guys had a 3-1 lead in the eighth, and were one inning from sweeping the series, when disaster struck. Walks, hits, and then a two run, seeing eyed, single, did Paradise in, as the Mets scored three runs, to take the lead. The Good Guys didnt have a prayer against Mets closer Billy Wagner in the ninth, as they sucummbed, 4-3. Game Five featured Charlize against the Mets. Charlize was very, very good, allowing but two runs in seven innings, but the game was a real nailbiter. The Good Guys kept going ahead, and the Mets kept coming back. Finally, in the sixteenth inning, the Good Guys scored three times, to take a 7-4 lead. The Mets started coming back in the bottom half again, and then, Carlos Delgado, trailing 7-5, hit a fly ball with two men on, that just trickled in the Met bullpen, but was good enough for an 8-7, sixteen inning win. The Good Guys were deflated, but knew, they had to forget about that game, and head back to Paradise, with the lead in the series still.
Game Six was in Paradise on Tuesday night, with the champange on ice. The Good Guys wanted to give their fans an early party, as they scored five runs in the opening inning. It looked like it would be party time, but then, Kate, normally the Rock of Gibraltar, became fallable, and started giving up runs. The Mets scratched all the way back for a tie. Then, in the eighth, New York took the lead. In the bottom half, the Good Guys tied the game, 6-6. Finally, in the tenth, with the bases loaded for the Good Guys, and someone other than Billy Wagner pitching, a bases loaded walk was issued, to bring the winning run home, and give the Good Guys the National League Championship. The team was euphoric, and Kate knew, that she had to get her arm ready to start in four days, against the Yankees. While there was euphoria, everyone knew there was one more mile to go, that they hadnt last year, before they could really let loose.
That year, the Good Guys had home field advantage, as 60,000 screaming and crazed souls jammed Good Guy Stadium on Saturday night, for Game One of the World Series, against the mighty Yankees. Kate Hudson, of course, would oppose Yankees ace Chin Min Wang. Kate allowed only two hits, and the game was tied, 1-1 in the sixth, when the Good Guys got a suicide squeeze, good for one run, and a homer, good for another. Kate gave up a run in the seventh, but the bullpen slammed the door, as Duff got the outs she needed in the ninth, for a 3-2 win. Gil Bellows would face Andy Petitte in Game Two. Pettite, who had his difficulties against Atlanta in the World Series years before, got hit hard by the Good Guys, allowing six runs in three innings. Paradise, on their home turf, never looked back, as they scored twelve runs, and walked away with a 12- 2 laugher, to put them halfway to the title, and perhaps, show how determined they were about winning it all.
After an off day Monday, the teams met in Yankee Stadium in the Bronx for Game Three. Charlize would oppose Mike Mussina. Mussina got hit hard, and so did Charlize. The Yankees had a four run lead, before Paradise caught them in the eighth. The game went to extra innings, where the Yankees prevailed, on a tenth inning homer, 7-6, for their first win, and maybe, to shift some of the pressure back to the Good Guys. Game Four would feature the Game One starters, Kate against Wang. Both pitchers allowed virutally nothing for six innings, as the game was tied, 1-1. In the seventh, the Good Guys got a couple of hits off Wang, and the Yankee bullpen came in, and made a mistake, giving up a three run double to Ed Burns. The game remained 4-1 into the ninth, when Burns hit a solo shot, to make it 5-1. The Good Guy bullpen very nearly let it get away, as, they alllowed a run, and allowed the bases to be loaded, before Amanda Bynes, in relief of Hilary Duff, threw a pitch, that was hit on a sinking line to Mitch, where if it had fallen, it would have tied the game. Instead, Mitch made a nice running catch, to leave the bases loaded for the Yankees, and preserve a 5-2 win, that put the Good Guys one win from the promised land. The champange was on ice for Paradise in Game Five. Bellows would oppose Pettite. The Yankees, desperate, and angry, bashed Bellows for five runs in five innings, and it looked like, the series would definitely be going back to Paradise for Game Six. Then, in the seventh, and eighth, the Good Guys suddenly made it 5-4. In the ninth, Yankee closer Mariano Rivera saved the day, and sent the series back to Paradise, with a 5-4 Yankee win. The Good Guys, however, were going home, with intent to finish the Yankees, and not allow a Game Seven to be played.
After a restful Friday, Game Six was played on a crystal clear, mild, 79 degree Paradise evening, with a standing room only crowd of more than 60,000 staging a love-in. Charlize would oppose Mike Mussina, mindful that this was not a "Win or go home" game. Nontheless, the Good Guys wanted to do it that night, after the disappointment of the year before. The game was tense, and tight, as both teams got through five innings scoreless. In the sixth, with a man on, Mitch came up, and bashed a long, arching homer, into the Ocean, to give Paradise a 2-0 lead. The game remained that way until the ninth, when, although Charlize had allowed only two hits, Lee Sniderman made the controversial decision to take her out, and replace her with a fresh Hilary Duff. An out, was followed by a walk, another out, and a hit. Facing the go ahead run, the count became two strikes, and then, a deep fly ball was hit to Ed Burns in Center Field. It was deep, but playable. Burns lined it up, caught it in his glove, dropped to one knee, and the Good Guys were Champions of the World! Burns held the ball in his glove, as Mitch ran over, and the two embraced, and then ran into the infield, to join their teammates. Once again, the Good Guys had fought back from an awful loss the year before, to slay the mighty Yankees. In the infield, twenty five players gathered around Duff at the mound, and there was laughter, tears, and celebration. Mitch found Naomi in the pile of players, and the two hugged, saying nothing, but crying in each other's arms. It was a very emotional scene. The crowd stood, clapped, cheered, and cried themselves, with strangers embracing. The Paradise Island team had once again defied the odds, and risen up, as World Champions.
Slowly, the overcome Good Guys made their way to the clubhouse, for the interviews, and trophy presentation. Mitch was found by the media: "What can I say? This is the best feeling. I thank God, and my teammates. Charlize pitched an awesome game tonight, hats off to her, and Hilary was amazing as usual. I also congratulate the Yankees. They had a wonderful season, but this year, it was ours. Both teams seem to love the October stage, and this is so fun, but it's even more fun, when you win" Mitch said, to a roar from his team in the background.
After everyone showered, there was a dinner and party at a nightclub, and then the team went to the fetish club. No one really felt much like tickling that night, as everyone was exhausted, and emotional. Mitch and Naomi just sat quietly, drinking, and savoring it, with their teammates.
At the parade on Monday, several hundred thousand people jammed the streets of Nassau and Paradise, as the Good Guys, atop floats, had one last celebration for their year to remember. During the speeches, Mitch was shouted the inevitable questions, about next year, and tipped his hat to his intentions:" I have to talk to Naomi, but this is so fun, I cant see retiring now, so, unless a certain Aussie wife has objections, I think you will probably see us next year" Mitch said, to a roar from the big crowd.
That night, the team held it's last tickle party of the year, before scattering for the winter. The featured lee would be Game Six winning pitcher Charlize Theron, among others. Charlize was tied hands and feet to the bed, in the middle of the fetish club. Second baseman Russell began the tickle on Charlize's neck with fingers, as her head shifted, and the laughter began:HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEE! Working down, Catcher Barney was next, tickling Charlize on her underarms, sides, ribs, and belly with fingers, as the giggles continued:HEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHHEHEHHEHEHEHEE! Mpving down, Center Fielder Ed Burns was the next ler, tickling Charlize on her hips, inner thighs, and knees with fingers, as her legs bucked:HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! Finally, Mitch positioned himself at Charlize's bare feet, attacking them with fingers, feathers, and electric toothbrushes over her toes and soles. Charlize went berserk, wiggling her toes every which way, and screaming with laughter, begging for mercy:HEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEEHE! OMG PLEASE NO MORE TICKLE! I GIVE UP! NOOOO! HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHE! Finally, the tickle ended, and the exhausted Charlize was untied.

So, all's well that ends well for the Good Guys, as they claimed the World Championship again. Best of all, it looked like everyone would be returning for another year. Now came the time to rest, and savor it all, but there would be next season always, yes, next season would come soon enough for our heroes, our World Champion Tickle Team From Paradise Island.

The End

That's more like it, the Good Guys back at the top of the food chain right were they belong. It was back and forth there for a while though. Another great one and I look forward to the start of a new season.

Thank you, happy, your praise and support, is, as always, appreciated, my friend. Yes, it is nice to have the Good Guys as champs again. It was a bit of a battle, but not as bad as the last time they won the Series. At least it didnt go down to the seventh game in the last inning like it had two years earlier. It was, for the most part, a wonderful postseason.
As you know, stay tuned. There will be more to come, likely Wednesday.

Mitch
