The Good Guys embarked on their next road trip, this time to the mid Atlantic, and midwest. They began by winning two out of three in Washington, before going to Philadelphia and losing two out of three, and then traveling to Cincinnatti, and winning two of three games there, for a winning road trip. They returned home, on a Sunday night, to begin a nine game homestand, with the teams they had started the season against.
When Mitch arrived home on Sunday night, both he and Naomi were feeling very frisky. The couple got into bed, and fooled around. Mitch pinned Naomi down, and, decided to tickle attack a spot which he didnt often focus on, but where Naomi was VERY ticklish, the backs of her knees. "Yeah, I know, but the way I did it was more fun" Mitch replied. The couple made love, and things seemed calm, at least then. Hopefully, it would be ten days of such.
The next night, the Good Guys opened a homestand at the ballpark, against the teams they had started the season with. The Mets were the first visitors. Kate Hudson had the ball that night. She allowed two runs in seven innings, as the Good Guys broke a 2-2 tie in the seventh, with a run, and the bullpen did the rest, in a 3-2 victory. Gil Bellows pitched the next night. He was done in by two errors, and the Good Guys did not hit that night, falling, 2-1. Charlize Theron took the mound on Wednesday night. She gave up three runs in six innings, but the team came through for her, rallying from a 3-2 deficit, to score four times in the sixth, to give credit for the win to Charlize, as the bullpen shut off the Mets with but one run, in a 7-4 win.
Thursday was an off day. That day, the couple showed up to counseling. Things weren't going too badly between them at that point. "He's found a new ticklish spot for me. My knees. It is murder for me when someone tickles the backs of my knees. Over twenty years we've been married, he really hasnt tickled me there. Atlanta came to town on Friday night. Neve Campbell was on the hill. Neve got hit hard, allowing four runs in six innings. The Braves led, 5-4 in the seventh, when the Good Guys suddenly erupted for four runs. The bullpen clamped down, and the Paradise Islanders had an 8-5 triumph. Rachel Leigh Cook had the ball on Saturday night. She allowed two runs, and that was all, but the Good Guys got none, and fell, 2-0, as Rachel pitched nine innings, but did not get a win. Kate Hudson opposed John Smoltz on a sunny, 92 degree day, in front of a sellout. It was a very ragged game, and not one to be expected with Hudson vs Smoltz. Both pitchers got hit hard. Kate gave up four runs on ten hits, and Smoltz four runs on nine hits. The game was tied, 4-4 in the seventh, when the Good Guys got a run on an error. Sniderman, whose bullpen was exhausted, decided to roll the dice, and stick with Kate, on what was a brutally hot day. Kate ended up getting credit for a very unusual, four run, complete game win, striking out nine Braves, as the Good Guys survived, coming away with a 5-4 win over Atlanta.
Houston visited Paradise on Monday night, in the last series, before the Good Guys would hit the road again. Gil Bellows pitched on Monday night. Paradise, after not scoring for Bellows in his last outing, erupted for four first inning runs, and six overall. The six runs were enough, to claim a 6-4 triumph. Charlize Theron had the ball on Tuesday night. Charlize allowed only three runs in six innings, but once again, the Good Guys could not score enough runs, getting only two, and falling, 3-2. Neve Campbell took the mound on a blazing, hot, unusually brutal, 96 degree Paradise Island afternoon. The game was announced as a sellout, but it was likely that the extreme heat kept some of the fans away, as there were actually about 35,.000 in the ballpark that day, braving the heat. The game proved to be a wild one, as Neve got hit hard, and was gone by the fifth inning. The contest was tied, 5-5 in the seventh, when the Good Guys got two runs. Hilary Duff nearly made it interesting in the ninth, but got the outs she needed, as the Good Guys finished off the homestand in fine fashion, with a 7-6 win, that completed a fine six and three homestand. Some of the games had been a little too close for comfort, but, as it was the final outcomes that mattered only, the team was relieved to have walked away with their goal of six wins in nine games on any homestand.
In the meantime, the team held it's Saturday night tickle party, following the loss to the Braves. The featured lee would be actress Tea Leoni, who was visiting the island with her family that week, to relax, and take in some games. The pretty blonde was tied hands and feet to the bed, in the middle of the fetish club, as her husband stood and watched, a smirk on his face: "She's very ticklish, go get her".
