The Good Guys had a very quiet winter following their heartbreaking setback in the World Series. Everyone quickly signed contracts for another year, and there were no thoughts of retirement. The twenty five members of the Good Guys had one goal, although it was nearly a year away: Get back to the World Series, with the Yankees, and win. Anything else, was unacceptable.
Mitch and Naomi didn't experience much drama during that winter. Naomi did one movie, in Miami, and, besides that, they attended therapy, and just tried to be mellow.
After a good spring, the Good Guys opened the season on a magnificent, sunny, bright, 80 degree day in Paradise, against the Mets. Kate Hudson was on the mound. The Good Guys had their hitting shoes on that day, and scored five times. Kate departed after the sixth, leading 5-2, because of having thrown a lot of pitches, and it being so early in the season. Instead of saving the game, the bullpen behaved like the arson squad in the seventh, as Naomi, and Amanda Bynes, allowed the Mets to tie the score. Fortunately for the Good Guys, the Mets didnt get any more runs, and, in the tenth, Mitch came up, and hit a homer into the left field bullpen, to give the Good Guys a 6-5, ten inning win. It wasnt how the team had scripted it, but it was a win, and they would take it.
Gil Bellows started on Opening Day Two, another sunny, beautiful, day. He, too, got off to a blazing start, allowing only one run in seven innings. This time, the bullpen held the Mets in check, until a single could win it in the eleventh, by a 2-1 score. Charlize Theron was the starter in the third game. Charlize allowed only two runs, but the Good Guys could get none, and lost, 2-0. Still, two out of three wasnt bad.
Thursday was an off day. At counesling that morning, Naomi and Mitch had little going on. "We are just trying to start a new season quietly, no drama. So far, so good, with two out of three over the Mets. Our sex life is decent, we are tickling, and preparing for the Braves" Naomi said.
Atlanta did come to town on Friday night. Neve Campbell was on the mound. She allowed three runs in seven innings. The game was tied, 3-3, in the seventh, when the Good Guys got a run. However, once again, the bullpen proved to be costly, as Hilary Duff served up back to back homers to the Jones boys, Chipper and Andruw, in the ninth, to help the Braves to a 5-4 win. Rachel Leigh Cook had the ball on Saturday night. The team wasnt feeling comfortable, after the back to back losses, but Cook stood her ground, pitching seven strong innings, and striking out ten Braves. The game was tied 1-1, in the seventh, before the Good Guys got one run in the seventh, and another in the eighth. The bullpen had to tiptoe through the ninth, but perserved the 3-2 victory. On Sunday afternoon, a picture perfect 83 degree day, with not a cloud around, and an azure blue sky, Kate Hudson opposed John Smoltz. It was figured there would be some strikeouts that day, and, sure enough, there were, with Kate punching out nine Braves in her seven innings, and Smoltz fanning ten Good Guys in his eight innings. In the ninth, against one of the lesser people in the Atlanta bullpen, Mitch came up, and launched one for all the bases, for a 1-0 Good Guy win.
Houston entered Paradise on Monday, in the last series of the homestand, before the Good Guys would take to the road for the first time that year. Gil Bellows had the ball on Monday night. Gil pitched well, but the Good Guys were still having trouble scoring runs, and Bellows three runs allowed that night proved to be too much, in a 3-1 setback. Sniderman juggled his lineup for Game Two, trying to jump start his offense. He moved Mitch from his usual third spot, down to fifth, and promoted the fifth hitter, Dawson, to Mitch's third spot. Additionally, he flip flopped shortstop Tom Cruise, who usually hit second, to leadoff, and dropped the second baseman, Russell, to the number two position. Finally, he moved Ed Burns, who usually hit cleanup, to the sixth position, and promoted the third baseman, Mike, to cleanup. The entire team except spots seven and eight were hitting completely out of order, and, it worked, as the batting order relaxed, and scored five runs that night, on nine hits, with two homers, one by Mitch, and one by Ed Burns. Charlize Theron was the beneficary of the offensive attack, as she gave up four runs in seven innings, but the bullpen slammed the door, for a 5-4 win. Neve Campbell took the mound on a sunny, dry, 84 degree Paradise Island Wednesday afternoon, in front of a sellout. The Good Guys offense continued, as they exploded for six runs in the first three innings. Neve was breezing along, until the ninth, when she ran into trouble, and allowed two runs. The bullpen came in and saved the day, as, with the bases loaded, Hilary Duff got out of a jam, to finish off a 6-2 Paradise Island win, which capped off a very fine first six and three homestand. Sniderman felt pleased to see his ballclub hitting at the end of the homestand, and, as the team packed to head for New York, things were looking up.
In the meantime, the team held it's Saturday night tickle party, following the win against the Braves. The featured lee would be the second baseman Russell, who seemed to rarely get tickled. He was tied in his boxer shorts hands and feet to the bed in the middle of the fetish club. Naomi began the tickle on Russell's neck with fingers, as his head shifted, and the laughter began:HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Working down, Amanda Bynes was next, tickling Russell on his underarms, sides, ribs, and belly with fingers, as he howled some more:HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Moving down, Neve Campbell was the next ler, tickling Russell on his hips, inner thighs, and knees with fingers, as he continued to laugh:HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Finally, Kate Hudson and Hilary Duff positioned themselves at Russell's feet, and attacked his feet with their fingers, feathers, ice, and an electric toothbrush over his soles and toes. Russell went beserk, wiggling his toes every which way, and howling with laughter:HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAAHA! OKAY! OKAY! I GIVE UP! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAH!Finally, the tickle ended, and Russell was untied.
On Thursday night, Naomi drove Mitch to Nassau International, so that he could catch the team flight to JFK Airport in New York. "Good first homestand, no drama, now I lose you for the first time this year. Go off, play well, and I will see you next Sunday night" Naomi said, kissing him.
So, it had been a good first homestand. Now came the first road trip of the year. How would the team fare on that sorjourn? That answer to come in the next segment of the Tickle Team From Paradise Island.

The End

Well things opened quietly between Mitch and Naomi and the team seems to be picking up speed headed into another fantastic Good Guy ball year. Another great one and I look forward to the next one.

HappyD

Thank you, happy, your praise is appreciated, as always, my friend. Yes, things did start off well, for both Mitch and Naomi, and the team, let's hope it continues.
My PM explained the parameters of this weekend, due to real baseball, but, as you know, stay tuned, there will be more to come soon.

Mitch
