The Good Guys had a very quiet, and rather painful, winter of reflection, following their devastating setback in the World Series. The team marketing department, had a very tough time, emotionally, having to prepare the annual highlight video, of the team's season, which ended in heartbreak. After a while, the pain finally wore off, spring training opened, and the team tried to put the excruciating defeat behind them, in favor of a new season, and a new goal, which, was, of course, a title, or bust.
After a mediocre spring, the Good Guys opened their new season, on a sunny, windy, perfect, 80 degree day in Paradise, against the Mets. After the National League Championship flag raising, Kate Hudson took to the mound. Kate, and Mets starter Pedro Martinez, were hooked up in a good duel, which was scoreless, into the seventh. Kate was pinch hit for, and, after a couple of hits knocked Pedro out for the Mets, the Good Guys erupted, scoring six times, on several hits. The bullpen did the rest, and the team never looked back, finishing off the 6-0 win, that Kate got credit for. On Opening Day Two, another picture perfect day, Gil Bellows had the ball. Gil allowed but one run in his six innings of work, and, with the game tied, 1-1 in the eighth, Paradise pushed across a run, and then turned the proceedings over to Hilary Duff, who finished off the Mets, for a 2-1 win. Charlize Theron had the ball on Wednesday afternoon. She allowed three runs in six innings, a quality start. However, Paradise could get no runs at all, and, the bullpen allowed another run, as the Good Guys were saddled with a 4-0 defeat, their first setback of the season.
Thursday was an off day. Mitch and Naomi had spent the winter very quietly, and not much friction had occurred, as Mitch had finally forgiven Naomi, for her insensitive stance about his mother months earlier. The couple was being civil, having sex on a regular basis, and now, was trying to focus on their baseball careers again, with the eventual goal, of getting their beloved team back to the promised land.
Atlanta came to town on Friday night. Neve Campbell was on the mound. Paradise scored four early runs. Then, Campbell, who allowed many baserunners, tried to keep the powerful Braves in check. Neve left with a 4-3 lead in the seventh, and the bullpen came in, and perserved the slim margin, to finish off the 4-3 win. Rachel Leigh Cook took the assignment on Saturday night. She got hammered, allowing five first inning runs. The bullpen came on, and allowed nothing, but the Paradise Islanders could not get any runs, and were defeated, 5-0. Kate Hudson opposed John Smoltz, on a sunny, perfect, 82 degree Paradise Island day, in front of a sellout Both pitchers were at their best, with Kate firing eight shutout innings, striking out eight, and Smoltz pitching into the eighth, punching out nine Good Guys. The game went to extra innings, where, in the tenth, second baseman Russell, the unlikliest of heroes, bashed a solo homer, only the fifth of his career, that just barely cleared the wall in right field, for a 1-0 Good Guy victory.
Houston entered Paradise on Monday, for the final series of the homestand, before the Good Guys would go away for the first time that year. Gil Bellows had the ball on Monday night. He allowed three runs in six innings, a quality start. The Good Guys, however, did not hit that night either, scoring only one run, and falling, 3-1. Charlize Theron had the ball on Tuesday night. After getting shut out in her previous outing, Charlize got a gift, as her mates scored four first inning runs. She had a bit of trouble, but managed to pitch six innings, allowing four runs. The Good Guys, meanwhile, added to their 4-0 lead, scoring three more runs. The bullpen then took over, and brought home the 7-4 win. Neve Campbell took the mound, on a hazy, rather warm, 87 degree Paradise day, in front of a sellout. The ball was jumping off the bat that day, as Houston scored three early runs off Neve, and the Good Guys got them right back, scoring three of their own, on two homers. The proceedings never did settle down, as runs kept coming in bunches. Finally, in the eighth, with the score tied, 6-6, Mitch came up with three on, and blasted a Grand Slam homer, to give Paradise a 10-6 lead. The bullpen had trouble in the ninth, but Hilary Duff put the Astros down, to come away with a hard fought 10-7 Good Guy win, that crowned a successful opening season six and three homestand. The team had played solidly, except for the last game, and, as they prepared to head to New York, on the first road trip of the year, things looked good.
In the meantime, the team held it's first tickle party of the year, on Saturday night, following the blowout loss to the Braves. The featured lee would be slight, slender, actress Samantha Mathis, who had appeared in such films as The American President. She was tied hands and feet to the bed, in the middle of the fetish club, in a bra and panties. Second baseman Russell began the tickle on Samantha's neck with fingers, as her head shifted, and the giggles began:HHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! Moving down, third baseman Michael was next, tickling Samantha on her underarms, sides, ribs, and belly with fingers, as she shrieked:HEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHE! OMG NO! Working down, Center Fielder Ed Burns was the next ler, attacking Samantha on her hips, inner thighs, and knees with fingers, as more laughter erupted:HHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEEH! Finally, Mitch positioned himself at Samantha's bare feet, tickling them with his fingers, feathers, ice, and an electric massager over her senstive soles and toes. Samantha went ballistic, wiggling her toes every which way, and begging for mercy:HEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHHEEHHEHEHEEEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! OMG ! OKAY! OKAY! PLEASE NO MORE TICKLE! I GIVE UP! NOOOOO! HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! Finally, the tickle ended, and Samantha was untied.
Things in Mitch and Naomi's personal relationship were tranquil as the season began. The couple had, for the most part, basically a quiet winter.
On Thursday night, Naomi drove Mitch to Nassau International, so that he could catch the team flight to JFK Airport in New York. "Nothing happened this homestand, except baseball. All is quiet" Naomi remarked. "True, let's see if we can keep it that way all season, Aussie" Mitch replied. "I'll try if you will, American" Naomi said.
So, it had been a very quiet first homestand, dominated by all baseball, and no friction. Now came the first road trip of the year. What would happen next? That answer to come in the continuing story of the Tickle Team From Paradise Island.

The End

Well it's good to have the Good Guys back in action even if they didn't take it all last season. I'm excited to see them develop this season. Another great one and I look forward to the next one.

Mitch
