The Good Guys finished the regular season on a high note, winning the division with ease. Now, came the dreaded Dance Of October.
Just before the playoffs started, Mitch and Naomi had a vicious argument. It seemed as though every time he turned a corner, the couple went back into hell again. Naomi mused at one point about whether Mitch was "Intentionally acting up, to make her go away". Mitch scoffed at these notions. What was worse for Mitch, is that there would be no ten day respites from her during the playoffs, as she always traveled with the team at that time of year. The couple would be sharing the same hotel room, and the tension would be there.
The National League Division Series opened on a Tuesday, in Paradise, against the Milwaukee Brewers. Kate Hudson, of course, was on the mound. Kate pitched very well, allowing only two runs in seven innings. The Good Guys got just the amount of runs they needed, rallying from a 2-1 deficit in the eighth, to get two runs, for a 3-2 lead, and the eventual 3-2 win. Gil Bellows pitched Game Two. Paradise came out swinging early, bolting to a
5-0 lead. They never looked back, taking the game 10-3, for a two game lead in the series.
After an off day Thursday, the teams met in Milwaukee for Game Three on Friday. Charlize was the starter that night. She got hit hard, allowing four runs in the six innings she pitched. The Good Guys could not recover, losing 4-0. On Saturday, Kate Hudson had the ball again. Paradise scored three runs early, and didnt look back, as Kate allowed but one run in eight innings. The bullpen did the rest, and the Good Guys put the hammer on the first round, with a 3-1 win, to send them to the National League Championship Series against the Mets that Tuesday night.
The team flew back to Paradise, worked out, rested, and awaited the start of the Mets series. That series began on Tuesday in Paradise. Gil Bellows was the Game One starter. Gil allowed three runs in six innings, a quality start. Paradise trailed, 3-2 in the seventh, before rallying for a pair of runs, and a
4-3 win. Charlize Theron had the assignment on Wednesday. Once again, as they had in Game Two of the previous series, the Good Guys erupted offensively, scoring thirteen runs, for a 13-4 victory, that put them halfway to another World Series.
The teams flew to New York, had an off day Thursday, and then met up for Game Three on Friday night. Kate Hudson had her first start of the series. Kate was magnificent, in front of a hostile crowd, firing eight shutout innings, as the Good Guys got only one run, which was enough on that night, for a
1-0 win, that put them one win away from another World Series. Gil Bellows would try to finish the Mets in Game Four. Paradise led most of the way, getting a two run homer from Mitch early. They led, 2-0, in the eighth, when the bullpen of Amanda Bynes, Naomi, and Hilary Duff imploded, as the Mets scored three runs, and logged a 3-2 triumph, their first of the series. Charlize pitched Game Five in a light rain. The game was a seesaw, with the Good Guys surging ahead, and the Mets coming back. Finally, in the tenth, with the score tied, the Mets sent the series back to Paradise, with a long homer off the bat of Carlos Delgado. The Good Guys and Mets would now have to return to the Bahamas, as the Good Guys would try to close the series there.

She did not have her good stuff, and it looked easy for the Yankees, as Kate got bashed for five runs, in what seemed to be a very routine 5-2 win for New York. The Good Guys didnt have that "October" look to them. The next night, things didnt get any better for Paradise, as Gil Bellows was the pitcher. He allowed three runs, a quality start. Paradise, however, could get no runs at all, and lost, 3-0. The Good Guys were down two games, going home, and needed to turn it around at home.

Kate Hudson pitched Game Four. Kate was dominant that night, fanning eleven Yankees. The Good Guys got an early
3-0 lead, and didnt look back, as Hudson and Duff combined to down the Yankees, 3-1, to tie up the series. Gil Bellows knew he needed to win Game Five, for Paradise to have a chance. He was up to the task, as he allowed only two runs in six innings. The Yankee starter was just as good, and the game went to the ninth, tied. It was there that this October had it's symbolic ending. With the score tied, Hilary Duff gave up a long homer to Arod. Mariano Rivera put the Good Guys down in the ninth, and Paradise, after rallying to tie the series, found themselves one loss from obilvion.

3-1 in the ninth, and the Good Guys were three outs from the quiet season. Suddenly, Paradise made things interesting against Rivera, scoring one run, on three hits. With the tying run at third, Mitch hit a fly ball, along the left field line, that was caught. The Yankees had a 3-2 win. They were baseball's champions, and, that year, the Good Guys had fallen just a bit short. Of course, there was disappointment, but, they would return to fight the next year. In the clubhouse, Paradise was reflective. "Game Five at our place, I think that's where we lost it. If we win that, who knows? Congratulations to them. As for us, we'll take the National League trophy, and come back to get them next year" Mitch said. There were questions asked about his status, on both the team, and with Naomi. He directed those away. "I dont want to talk about any of that right now. I want to digest this, and see". Mitch said, abrputly.
When Mitch and Naomi got home that night, they looked at each other. There was no more baseball that year, so now what? They would be forced to deal with difficult issues over the winter.
In the meantime, the team held it's last tickle party of the year, the night after they lost the World Series. The featured lee would be Hilary Duff, who, the Good Guy team "Blamed" for losing the series. Had it not been for the home run she served up in Game Five, the outcome might have been different. Hilary was tied hands and feet to the bed, in the middle of the fetish club. Second baseman Russell began the tickle on Hilary's neck with fingers, as her head shifted, and the giggles commenced:HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEEHHEEHEHEHEHE! Working down, Center Fielder Ed Burns was next, tickling Hilary on her underarms, sides, ribs, and belly with fingers, as she squealed:HEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHHHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHE! Moving down, left fielder Dawson was the next ler, attacking Hilary's hips, inner thighs, and knees with fingers, as she bucked:HEEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHE! Finally, Mitch positioned himself, with Hilary's sister Haylie, at Hilary's bare feet. Mitch and Haylie attacked Hilary's feet with fingers, feathers, ice, and an electric toothbrush over her soles and toes. Hilary went beserk, wiggling her toes every which way, and squealing with laughter:HEHEHEHHEEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHE! OMG PLEASE NO MORE! I GIVE UP! IM SORRY I LOST THE SERIES! NOOOOOO! HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEEHE! Finally the tickle ended, and Hilary was untied, but not before another Good Guy male player, came behind Haylie, and gave her a sides tickle, sending the less famous Duff sister to the floor, writhing with hysterical laughter!
So, it had been a long, hard, October that had come up just a bit short. Now came the long, lonely winter. What would be for Mitch and Naomi then, and how would the team bounce back? Those answers to come in the continuing story of the Tickle Team From Paradise Island.
