The Good Guys finished their final road trip of the year with a five and four record on the nine game trip. When they returned home, it was time for October. Before the team could journey into October, there was an issue that had to be settled.
While Mitch was in the final stages of the road trip, he had a couple of long conversations with Naomi on the computer. They seemed to settle some major issues between them. When Mitch arrived home, he called Good Guy manager Lee Sniderman, and told him that he was going to stop by the ballpark the next morning, and sign the contracts. The rollercoaster couple, would indeed return to Paradise for another year.
With the contract issue settled, the playoffs opened, in Paradise, on a Tuesday, against the Phillies. Kate Hudson, of course, started Game One. She was masterful, allowing but one run in six innings. The game was tied, 1-1, before Paradise scored two runs in the eighth. The bullpen made it stand up, for a 3-1 first game win. Gil Bellows pitched Game Two. Paradise scored four quick runs in the first inning, and never looked back, as they engaged in an offensive assault, in a 13-4 thrashing, that put the Good Guys in the driver's seat in the series.
The teams flew to Philadelphia, and had an off day Thursday, before meeting in Philadelphia, for Game Three on Friday night. Charlize Theron was the starter. She got hit hard, allowing five runs in her five innings of work. The Good Guys tried to fight back, but fell short, losing, 5-4, for their first loss of the series. Kate Hudson pitched in Game Four. The Good Guys scored three runs in the first inning, and Kate was just masterful, until running out of gas in the eighth, and allowing two runs. With the score 3-2, the Good Guys got two huge insurance runs. Hilary Duff had some trouble in the ninth, but got the outs she needed, for a 5-3 victory, to win the series. One step down, two to go, but the Good Guys knew they still had much work to do.
The Good Guys flew back to Paradise, where they had Sunday and Monday to work out, and rest, before opening the National League Championship Series against the Mets on Tuesday night. Gil Bellows pitched Game One. He threw very well, allowing only two runs, in seven innings. The game was tied, 2-2 in the seventh, before Paradise manufactured two runs. The bullpen shut the powerful Mets down from there, for a 4-2, opening game victory. Charlize Theron took the ball for Game Two, after her poor outing in the first round. The Mets touched her up for three runs early, and at first, it didnt look good. Paradise trailed, 3-1, in the sixth, before erupting for three runs. From there, Sniderman played musicial chairs with his bullpen, making all the right moves, until Duff finished the job, for a 4-3 win, to put Paradise halfway to the World Series.
The teams flew to New York, and, after an off day Thursday, met at Shea Stadium, in New York, on Friday night. Kate Hudson was the starter. She was dominant, allowing absolutely nothing, as the Good Guys could score but one run. One was all they needed, however, as Hudson, combining with Duff, shut out the Mets, 1-0, to put the Good Guys one win from the World Series.
With the Good Guys holding a three game to none lead, Lee Sniderman made the controversial decision to start fourth starter Neve Campbell in Game Four. The manager, figuring he was in good position, with four chances to win one game, chose to rest his starters an extra day. The decision proved costly, as, in the first inning of Game Four, the Mets energized the home crowd, scoring five times, and never looking back, for an 8-1 thrashing, that put New York back in the series. Gil Bellows pitched in Game Five, on his regular amount of rest. He did a decent job, allowing only two runs in his six innings of work. Paradise, however, scored absolutely no runs, losing, 2-0, and sending the series back to Paradise for Game Six on Tuesday night.
With the Good Guys having the edge in the series, Sniderman had the choice of starting a well rested Charlize Theron in Game Six, or, going with Kate Hudson in Game Six on three days rest, and again doing so in Game One of the World Series, if the Good Guys got past the Mets. He chose the latter, figuring to save Charlize for Game Seven, and that she wouldnt be needed until Game Three of the World Series, if Paradise made it. Kate took the hill for Game Six, with the Good Guys home crowd, wanting the final win, to send them to the World Series. Kate did a decent, but not stellar, job. She allowed three runs in six innings. Paradise trailed, 3-2 in the sixth, before scoring two runs. Once again, the Good Guys played bullpen musical chairs. They didnt get any more runs, but, Hilary Duff got the final strikeout of the ninth, whiffing Carlos Delgado, with a man on, to give the Good Guys the National League Championship. The team was very reserved in the clubhouse interviews: "We havent won anything yet. We need four more wins, to get where we want to be" Mitch said, speaking for the team.
That year, the Good Guys had home field advantage in the World Series. They had three days to rest, prepare, and work out, to face who else? The Yankees. Game One of the World Series took place on Saturday night in Paradise Island, under crystal clear skies, and 80 degree tempertures. The game was not easy. It was anything but. Kate opposed Yankee ace Chin Min Wang. Kate allowed an early run, and so did Wang. Then, the starters, and the bullpens, allowed nothing. Kate departed after seven innings, having allowed but the one run, and Wang left in the eighth, also having allowed one run. A Yankee error opened the doors for the Good Guys in the eighth, and Paradise scored a run. Hilary Duff had to do some fancy dancing in the ninth, but dance through it she did, and Paradise had a 2-1 win, to draw first blood.
Gil Bellows opposed Andy Pettite in Game Two, as Yankee manager Joe Torre, wanted to pitch the lefthander in two games in Paradise Island. Bellows allowed one run in the first, and then the Good Guys got it back. Once again, the pitching took over. Pettite exited after six innings, and Bellows in the seventh, with the game still tied. In the top of the eighth, the Yankees scored a run, to take the lead. However, in the bottom half, Paradise used some timely hits, and a suicide squeeze, to regain the lead. Once again, Duff walked a tightrope in the ninth, but survived the highwire act, to lead the Good Guys to a 3-2 victory, to give Paradise a two game to none lead.
The teams flew to New York for Game Three. After an off day on Monday, Charlize Theron opposed Roger Clemens in the Bronx, on Tuesday night. 60,000 Yankee maniacs were rooting for their team to get back into the series. The game was really not a contest. Charlize didnt pitch badly, allowing only three runs, but Clemens, found some old magic, shutting out Paradise, and combining with Yankee automatic man Mariano Rivera, for the 3-0 win, to put the Yankees back in the series. Kate Hudson would oppose Chin Min Wang in Game Four, a game the Good Guys badly wanted to win, to give themselves three chances to win one game. Once again, the game was tight. Wang allowed one run through six, and so did Kate. In the seventh, with the game tied, Paradise got some timely hits, and ended up with four runs. In the ninth, leading 5-1, things got dicey. Amanda Bynes gave up a run, and then so did Hilary Duff. The score was 5-3, when the dangerous
Alex Rodriguez hit a fly ball, to end the game, and put the Good Guys one win from a party. Gil Bellows would pitch Game Five, in hostile territory, to try and finish the Yankees. Early on, it was apparent, he was not at his best, as he allowed four first inning runs. After that, Bellows settled down, and his relief shut the Yankees down. New York did get two more runs. Paradise put together a furious rally, making a 6-1 game, 6-5, as they had the tying run on third, but, Rivera got the final out, to send the series back to Paradise. The Good Guys had two chances to win one game, and wanted a party on Saturday night.
After an off day to rest on Friday, the team gathered with 60,000 delirious souls on Saturday night, for Game Six of the World Series. Charlize Theron was the starting pitcher. The Good Guys put the pressure on early, scoring two runs, but the Yankees came back to tie. Paradise hoped the series would not go to a Game Seven. They wanted the Yankees finished, then and there. The game remained, 2-2 into the eighth inning, by which time Charlize had departed, and Amanda Bynes, and Naomi, had relieved. In the bottom of the eighth, a walk, was followed by an error. Then, a bloop base hit, brought home the go ahead run. The crowd was besides themselves, with Hilary Duff warming up, in mindset of being three outs from a party. The Good Guys went out for top of the ninth, leading 3-2, with Duff on the mound. An out, was followed by a walk, another out, a hit, and another walk. The bases were loaded. There was no margin for error. Would there be a party that night, or Game Seven, the next night? Duff went to two strikes, and three balls, on the very dangerous Jason Giambi. Then, Hilary put everything she had into a high fastball. Giambi swung, and missed! The World Series was over, and the Good Guys, by the skin of their teeth, were World Champions, again! After the final out, Hilary Duff raised her hands in the air, looking to the sky, as Catcher Barney came to the mound to embrace her, and the team's outfielders ran into the infield, to join the celebration. Mitch and Naomi happened to meet in the crowd of players, and exchanged a nonchalant kiss on the cheek, showing little emotion to each other. They wanted to savor this with their teammates. The crowd was going crazy, as they laughed, cried, and applauded their World Champion Good Guys. Once again, Paradise had played their hearts out, and had emerged victorious! After the on the field celebration, the team retreated to the clubhouse, for the celebration, and the trophy presentation. Hilary Duff, who had saved the team's collective ass so many times in this post season, was named World Series MVP, as she had been in both the League Championship Series, and the Division Series. The giddy team accepted the trophy, and Mitch, feeling in a devious mood, proceeded to dump a whole bottle of champange, on Naomi's head, as she was giving an interview. Of course, the questions about "Next year" came up. Mitch, drenched in champange, and slightly drunk, looked at the equally inebriated Naomi, and said. "So what do you say, Aussie, you want to play next year?" To which Naomi replied. "Sure, American, why not? Let's sign the contracts" That issue, in a drunken stupor, had now been settled. Not only did the team do the ultimate, but they got their ever bickering couple, to agree to return the next year. Afterward, the team went to the hotel, and then the fetish club, for a lavish dinner, and champange celebration. It was a happy night.
The next night, at the final tickle party of the year, Good Guy manager Sniderman agreed to be the featured lee. His female players surrounded the manager, who was tied hands and feet to the bed, in his boxers, in the middle of the fetish club. Amanda Bynes began the tickle on the manager's neck with fingers, as his head shifted, and the laughter began:HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Working down, Kate Hudson was the next ler, tickling Sniderman on his underarms, sides, ribs, and belly with fingers, as the manager continued to laugh:HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHA! Moving down, Naomi was next, tickling the Good Guys skipper on his hips, inner thighs, and knees with fingers, as he bucked:HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA! Finally, Hilary Duff positioned herself at Lee's feet, and attacked them with her fingers, feathers, and an electric toothbrush, over his soles and toes. Lee went beserk, wiggling his toes every which way, and howling with laughter:HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA! OMG PLEASE NO MORE! I SURRENDER! NOOOOOO! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH! Finally, the tickle ended, and Sniderman was untied.
So, it had been the ultimate happy ending for Mitch and Naomi, and the rest of the wonderful Good Guys. Now came the restful offseason. The champions deserved a rest, but, they would now all be back to fight again next year. Yes, they would be together to fight next year. The World Champion Tickle Team From Paradise Island.

The End

Ha ha, alright, Good Guys back on top just as things should be and Mitch will be back in action for another season. Can't keep them out of it. Another great one and I look forward to the next one and to the start of the next season.

HappyD

Thank you, happy, your praise is appreciated. Yes, it is nice to have them win the ultimate games. Yeah, Mitch decided he wants to come back for another season. He just cant seem to retire. Seems like he loves the game too much.
As you know, stay tuned, a new season will be coming soon.

Mitch
