The Good Guys, following a six and three homestand against the Pirates, Cubs, and Cardinals, made trips to those three cities. They began by taking two of three in Pittsburgh, before losing two of three, in both Chicago, and St Louis. They returned home, on a Sunday night, to begin a nine game homestand, against the California teams.
While Mitch was away on the road trip, he had civil conversations with Naomi on the computer. Hopefully, things between the couple would stay calm. When he arrived home, on Sunday night, they made love, and tickled some, as the homecoming was off to a good start.
The next night, the Good Guys opened the homestand, against the Giants. Kate Hudson was on the mound. The Giants gave the Good Guys a run, and the Giants got one off Kate. The game remained 1-1 until the eighth. Kate was still pitching, when, with a man on, she made a mistake to Barry Bonds, who hit the mistake 400 feet over the center field wall, to give the Giants the lead. Paradise could not recover in the ninth, and lost, 3-1. The next night, things didnt get any better. Gil Bellows allowed one run in six innings, but, in the seventh, with the score tied, the bullpen imploded, allowing six runs, to a chorus of boos, and an eventual 7-1 Good Guy defeat. Charlize Theron took the ball on Wednesday. She shut the Giants out for seven innings, before the bullpen came on to pitch the eighth. Hayden got the Giants in the ninth, and, in the bottom half, Mitch drilled a long homer, for Paradise's only run, of a 1-0 win.
Thursday was an off day. Mitch and Naomi arrived at counesling that day, on a calm note: "Not much happening with us. The team isnt playing well, so its frustrating" Naomi said.
San Diego came to town on Friday. The leagues top pitching would be a task, for a Good Guy team, that usually bashed the ball, but was suddenly in a slump. Neve Campbell allowed only three runs in six innings on Friday night, but Paradise got absolutely none, falling 3-0. Rachel Leigh Cook got spanked on Saturday night, giving up six runs in the first inning, of a 6-1 loss. Kate Hudson opposed Jake Peavy, on a sunny, bright, 83 degree Paradise day, in front of a sellout. Manager Sniderman juggled his lineup that day, hoping to break his team out of it's slump. They got exactly one run again, a home run. Kate, however, made the lead stand up. She threw inning after inning of scoreless ball, holding San Diego down. By the ninth, she had thrown 113 pitches, and still had just the 1-0 lead. She allowed a base runner, and then Hayden came in, and allowed another one, before nailing down the save, with a 1-0 victory, only the Good Guys second of the homestand, and the second 1-0 win of the homestand.
The Dodgers entered Paradise on Monday, in the homestand's last series. Gil Bellows allowed only two runs in eight innings on Monday night, but Paradise could score only one, and was defeated, 2-1. Charlize Theron fired a masterpiece on Tuesday night. The Good Guys got a two run homer from Ed Burns early, and then made the lead stand up, as Charlize crafted a neat three hitter, striking out nine, in a 2-0 win. Neve Campbell took the mound, on a windy, warm, humid day, in front of a sellout. This time, Paradise scored three runs in the first, on an Ed Burns homer with two on. Neve hung tough through six innings, when Naomi, Amanda Bynes, and Hilary Duff followed her to the mound. Duff allowed a two run homer in the eighth. In the ninth, Hayden entered. After two were out, and the crowd on its feet, shortstop Tommy Cruise dropped what would have been the last out, for an error. The next batter, drilled a 400 foot homer, with a man on, to give LA the lead. Paradise tried to rally in the ninth, but fell short, when Mitch struck out to end the game, to a chorus of boos, and complete a 4-3 Good Guys loss, that ended a pitiful three and six homestand. Just days earlier, Paradise had held a comfortable lead in the division. Now, the Mets were creeping close to them, after going on a long winning streak, and the Good Guys, who just ten days earlier looked like a lock for the playoffs, now saw their October plans very much in doubt.
In the meantime, the team held its Saturday night tickle party. The featured lee, would be a 20 year old thin suntanned beauty, who was a consultant for the Good Guys female players, on their beauty needs, during the off season. She was tied hands and feet to the bed, in the middle of the fetish club, in a bra and panties. On Thursday afternoon, Naomi drove Mitch to Nassau International, so that he could catch the team flight to San Fransisco. "Bad homestand this time. Good Luck on the road trip. I hope we come out of it" Naomi said, kissing him for Good Luck.
