The Good Guys embarked on their next road trip, and had a brutal trip, going three and six in the nine games they played, as they dropped two of three games in all three stops of a Washington, Philadelphia, and Cincinnatti road trip. They returned home, on a Sunday night, to begin a nine game homestand, against the teams they had opened the season with.
During the road trip, Mitch and Naomi kept their distance from one another. They did not call, or even e-mail. Mitch tried to busy himself with life on the road, with the games, and socializing. Of course, there was always the temptation of gorgeous wonen, throwing themselves at the handsome, successful, baseball player's feet. In spite of his difficulties, Mitch wasn't ready to go THAT route yet, as he knew that if things did end, he owed Naomi a clean break honorably, after the quarter century they had both invested, and the three grown children they had.
When Mitch arrived home on Sunday night from Cincinnatti, he saw Naomi upon entering. "You don't have to tell me, Naomi Ellen, I know, guest room. I wouldnt think of trying to fuck you, when we're like THIS!" Mitch said, going to the guest room, and slamming the door.
The next night, the Good Guys opened their nine game homestand. First up for Paradise, would be the free falling New York Mets, who were still in first place in their division, but not playing well. Kate Hudson, of course, would lead off the series, against the Mets Pedro Martinez. Both pitchers were great, as Kate allowed but one run in seven innings, and struck out eight Mets, and Pedro gave up one run in seven innings, punching out nine Good Guys. The game was tied, in the bottom of the ninth, when Ed Burns came up, and blasted a homer, for a 2-1 win. Tom Glavine opposed Gil Bellows in game two of the series. The Good Guys jumped on Glavine early, and often, for four runs in the first. Bellows, in the meantime, pitched well, before allowing the Mets three runs in the sixth. With the score 4-3 Good Guys, Paradise plated three more runs in the seventh. It got interesting in the ninth, as, leading 7-3, Naomi, Amanda Bynes, and Hayden had trouble closing out the Mets. Finally, with the score 7-5 Good Guys, Hayden struck out the extremely dangerous Carlos Delgado, with two men on, to finish off the 7-5 victory. Charlize Theron pitched against Mets lefty Oliver Perez on Wednesday night. Perez was good, allowing only three runs in six innings, but Charlize was brilliant, shutting out the New Yorkers on four hits, for a 3-0 triumph, to complete the three game sweep of the reeling Mets.
Thursday was an off day. That day, the couple showed up to counesling, and neither seemed to care much what was happening. "Baseball is good. We just swept the Mets. As for us. We just plod along. Neither of us was online or around much, while the team was away. Now, we say what we have to, but. there's no fire. Maybe this is just a period. I dont know" Naomi said.
Atlanta came to town on Friday night. Neve Campbell was on the mound. She pitched well, allowing two runs in six innings. With the score tied, 2-2, Paradise pushed across a run in the eighth, and Hayden slammed the door in the ninth, for the Good Guys fourth straight win, a 3-2 victory. Rachel Leigh Cook was brought down to earth, as she got blasted, in a 5-1 loss on Saturday night, which ended the four game winning streak. Kate Hudson opposed John Smoltz, on a sunny, warm, 87 degree Paradise day, in front of a sellout. Both pitchers had their best stuff, each giving nothing to the other team, and matching them pitch for pitch. In the ninth, the game was still scoreless, when Kate, who was still pitching, served up a long solo homer to the Braves Mark Texiara. Braves manager Bobby Cox let Smoltz pitch the ninth, and Smoltz rewarded his manager by striking out all three batters in the inning, to complete the Braves 1-0 win, a two hit shutout for Smoltz and Atlanta, which featured twelve strikeouts by the Braves right hander.
Houston entered Paradise on Monday, for the homestand's final series. Gil Bellows pitched on Monday. He was good, allowing but two runs in six innings. Paradise blew a 2-0 lead in the eighth, however, as Houston got three runs, and a 3-2 triumph. Charlize Theron took the mound on Tuesday. She was rewarded with run support early, as the Good Guys scored five runs in the opening inning, and never looked back, as Charlize pitched a complete game, in a 5-2 win. Neve Campbell took the mound, on a sunny, humid, 88 degree Paradise day, in front of a sellout. Neve gave up three runs in six innings. Trailing 3-0 in the sixth, the Good Guys went to work tying the game on singles, and then taking the lead on back to back homers by Burns and Dawson in the seventh. With the score 5-3 in the ninth, Hayden allowed some baserunners, but got the outs she needed, for the 5-3 Good Guy win, that completed the six and three homestand. It had been a homestand of winning and losing streaks, but, as the team prepared to head to New York the next evening, the end result of the six wins they collected, was the only thing that mattered.
The team held it's Saturday tickle party, following the loss to the Braves. For this party, male and female members of the team, retired to seperate rooms at the fetish club, to be tickled by each other, and doms. From peeking in through a peephole in the door of the girls room, Mitch, who was still not speaking to Naomi, could see that she was lying tied in a black bra and panties, surrounded by several male doms. He watched as one dom began the tickle on Naomi's neck with fingers, as her head shifted, and the laughter began:HEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHE! On Thursday night, Mitch was packed to head for the airport, and the team plane to JFK Airport in New York. "We arent talking. Is that going to change, or will this be how it is?" Mitch asked. "I dont know, this is how it is for now" Naomi replied. "Okay, well, I'll be home a week from Thursday, and we;ll see if things change then" Mitch said, picking up his case, and walking out the door.
So, it had been a homestand of fine play on field, and cold tension off field. Now came a ten day road trip. Would things between Mitch and Naomi improve? That answer to come in the continuing story of the Tickle Team From Paradise Island.
