The Good Guys embarked on their final road trip of the year, going four and five. They won two of three in Washington, before losing two of three to both Philadelphia, and Cincinatti. They returned home, on a Friday, to finish off a final weekend of the regular season, against the Mets, in which they won two of three games.
That year, instead of being the powerful World Champion of years past, they had barely qualified for the postseason, going in as the National League Wild Card entry. This meant that they had to open the postseason on the road, in Philadelphia, instead of in Paradise.
Game One of the Division Series was at Citizens Bank Park in Philly, on a Tuesday. Kate Hudson was on the mound. Paradise scored three early runs, and Kate made it stand up, allowing only two runs in six innings, and combining with the bullpen, for a 3-2 win. Gil Bellows started Game Two, and got bashed, allowing four runs, as the offense went to sleep. Paradise lost,
4-1, but emerged with a split in Philly, and were going home.
After an off day Thursday, the teams met at Good Guy Stadium on Friday night. Charlize Theron started Game Three. In front of a rocking sellout, Paradise erupted for five runs in the first inning, and never looked back, as Charlize shut out the Phillies, 5-0, to put Paradise one win from the Championship Series. Kate Hudson started Game Four. She pitched well, allowing one run in her seven innings. Paradise broke a 1-1 tie with a run in the seventh, and the bullpen put the Phillies away, for a 2-1 win, to finish Philly, and send the Good Guys to the National League Championship Series.
Once again, due to their subpar season, the Good Guys would not have home field advantage for the NLCS. They would have to fly to New York, to play the Mets. Game One of the Met-Good Guy series was on Tuesday Night at Shea Stadium, in front of 50,000 Mets fans. Gil Bellows had the start for Paradise. He allowed but two runs, but Met starter Tom Glavine gave up none, and the Mets drew first blood, with a 2-0 win. Charlize Theron pitched Game Two. Paradise scored one run in the opening inning. In front of 50,000 hostile fans, Charlize pitched a gut check game, allowing nothing, but two hits. Hayden slammed the door in the ninth, and the Good Guys had emerged from Shea with a 1-0 win, and a split of the two games in New York.
After an off day on Thursday, the teams hooked up at Good Guy Stadium for Game Three on Friday. Kate Hudson had the ball, in front of 52,000 Good Guys lunatics. She was magnificient, allowing only one run in eight innings. as Paradise broke a 1-1 tie with three runs in the sixth, and coasted to a 4-1 win. Gil Bellows would hook up with Glavine again in Game Four. Glavine had nothing, and got hammered, allowing five runs in five innings. Bellows wasnt as good as he was in Game One, but he was good enough, allowing three runs in six innings, and combining with the bullpen, to put Paradise one win from the World Series, with a 5-3 victory. The Mets would be fighting for their lives in Game Five. Charlize was on the mound for Paradise. She threw well, allowing only two runs, but the Mets were better, allowing only one run, to come away with a 2-1 win, to send the series back to New York.
While the Good Guys would be going back to New York, they still felt okay going into Game Six, with their ace Kate Hudson on the mound. Paradise diseccted Mets starter John Maine, who got lit up for five runs. Hudson was brilliant, allowing but one run over seven innings, and combining with the bullpen, to finish a 5-1 win, to send the Good Guys to another World Series.
Due to the Mets having the unusual home field advantage, and Paradise's opponent in the World Series being who else but the Yankees, the Good Guys could have stayed in New York to await the opening of the World Series, which that year would open in New York. However, the Good Guys wanted to go home, rest, and get away from the media. So, after Tuesday's night game, the team flew home to Paradise for three days, to rest, and work out, only to fly back to New York on Friday night, to open the World Series at the Stadium on Saturday night.
The Yankees faithful were rocking on Saturday night, wanting to avenge their team's loss of the year before. Kate Hudson opposed Chin Min Wang. Kate allowed three runs early, and Wang was magnificent, allowing only one, in a 3-1 Yankee win, to open the series. In Game Two, Gil Bellows dueled Andy Pettite. Pettite was fantastic, giving up no runs in six innings. In the sebventh, with a scoreless game, Amanda Bynes gave up a two run homer to Arod. Rivera put the Good Guys down, and the Yankees had a 2-0 win, and a two game to none series lead. The Good Guys had not played well in New York, and now needed to go home, and turn it around.
After an off day Monday, the teams met in Paradise on Tuesday night for Game Three. Charlize opposed Roger Clemens. Roger allowed three runs in his six innings of work, but Charlize was sensational, permitting only one run over seven innings, and combining with the pen, to get the Good Guys back into the series, with a 3-1 victory. Kate Hudson would duel Chin Min Wang in Game Four. This time, Kate was Kate, firing six shutout innings. The game was scoreless in the sixth, when Mitch came up, and cracked a homer with a man on. The pen took over from there, and brought home a 2-0 win, to tie the series at two games all. The pivotal Game Five was on Thursday night, with Bellows facing Pettite. Andy got smashed early, allowing five big runs. For a while, it looked like the Good Guys were going to coast back to New York with the series lead, but then, disaster struck. In the sixth, Arod hit a three run homer, to make the score 5-3. Sniderman, with an off day Friday, tried to put down the series hammer, and went against the "Book" by bringing in his closer, Hayden, to pitch two innings, and try to nail down the series lead. A hit was followed by an error. Then, Arod came to the plate, and silenced the crowd, and the Good Guys, by blasting a three run bomb off Hayden to give the Yankees the lead. Rivera did not give it back, and now, instead of boarding a plane to New York with the series lead, the team would go there fighting for their lives, facing insurmountable odds, needing to win two games, to stay alive.
On Saturday night, 60,000 Yankee fans jammed the House That Ruth Built, to watch their heroes battle the Good Guys. Charlize had the ball for Paradise. The game was scoreless, until the sixth, when Charlize suddenly gave up a walk, a base hit, and a three run homer. Paradise scored one run in the seventh. In the ninth, down by two, they put a charge into it against Rivera, who was not at his best. He allowed one run, but then, got Mitch on a lazy fly ball, to end the Series, and give the Yankees the title, as the Paradise Islanders fell one run short, with a 3-2 loss. That year, the Yankees had been the best, and now, it would be a winter of what might have been.
After absorbing the defeat, the Good Guys spoke to the media. "I congratulate the Yankees. I think we lost it in Game Five. I mean, they could have easily won it in seven also, but, when we had the lead, and blew it, it took some of the wind out of our sails. I accept the National League title, and look forward to coming to get them again next year." Mitch said, speaking for the disappointed Good Guy team.
On Sunday, the usual end of year tickle party was held, before everyone scattered for the winter. The main featured lee would be Hayden, whom everyone "Blamed", for the team's World Series setback, feeling that if she had saved Game Five, a different outcome might have happened. She was tied hands and feet to the bed, in the middle of the fetish club, in a bra and panties. Second baseman Russell began the tickle on Hayden's neck with fingers, as her head shifted, and she began to giggle:HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEH! Working down, Center fielder Burns wqas next, tickling Hayden on her underarms, sides, ribs, and belly with fingers, as she squealed:HEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEH! Moving down, left fielder Dawson was the next ler , attacking Hayden on her hips, inner thighs, and knees, as she bucked, and squealed:HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHE! Finally, Mitch positioned himself at Hayden's bare feet, and attacked them with fingers, feathers, toothbrushes, and ice. Hayden went beserk, wiggling her toes every which way, and screaming with laughter:HEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEE! OMG PLEASE NO MORE! I GIVE UP! NOOOO! HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHE! Finally, the tickle ended, and Hayden was untied.
So, it had been a long postseason, that had ended in disappointment. Now came the long winter. Additionally, Mitch and Naomi were anything but good, as they were in a deep freeze all postseason long. Things were feeling down in Good Guy Land. Yet, there was always next year, yes, always next year to chase down a title, for the Tickle Team From Paradise Island.

The End

Well that is a tough loss as a fan to stomach. I would have liked to see them take it all again. But, this loyal fan will be around for next season and I look forward to it.

HappyD

Thank you, happy, your praise is appreciated as always. Yes, it was a very tough loss for us Good Guy fans to stomach. I appreciate you sticking around for next season, and you know there will be one, coming very soon, likely tomorrow.

Mitch
