The Good Guys embarked on their mext road trip, going five and four on the nine day trip. They won two of three in Washington, before losing two of three in Philadelphia, and again won two of three in Cincinatti. They returned home, on a Sunday night, to begin a nine game homestand, against the teams they had started the regular season with.
While Mitch was away on the road trip, the issues he was having with Naomi on the previous homestand abated. The couple had several productive, long conversations on both the computer and the phone, settled some issues, and again became comfortable. Mitch suspected he was headed home to a good week, or at least he hoped this was true.
On Sunday night, when Mitch arrived home, Naomi met him at the door: "You have any time and strength for a horny, ticklish, Aussie wife?" Naomi said, kissing Mitch on the lips. "I think I can fit some time for you into my schedule" Mitch said, picking Naomi up in his arms. "Fuck you, American" Naomi said, in jest. "Fuck you was exactly my plan, Australian, if you have no objections" Mitch said, carrying the underwear only Naomi into the bedroom. "Nope, no objections. It will be nice to have a partner to sleep with" Naomi said. The couple made love, and fell assleep holding one another. It was amazing how they could be at each other's throats one week, and the next week be so much in love.
The next night, the Good Guys began their nine game homestand at the ballpark, against their favorite opponents, the Mets. Kate Hudson was on the mound. Three Mets errors led to four Good Guy runs, and the Mets could not recover, as Kate shut them out on five hits, 4-0. Gil Bellows pitched the next night. He allowed only one run in eight innings, as the Good Guys rallied from a 1-0 deficit, with three runs in the eighth, for a 3-1 win. Charlize Theron had the ball on Wednesday night. The Good Guys immediately scored five runs in the first inning, and never looked back, in what would be a 7-4 victory, that featured three Good Guy homers, and completed the three game sweep of the Mets.
Thursday was an off day. That day, Mitch and Naomi showed up to counesling "We're having a good week. No fights, lots of love. We swept the Mets, so the team is happy. Hopefully, this can bring us into a good period". Naomi said.
Atlanta came to town on Friday night. Neve Campbell was on the mound. Neve got hit hard, falling behind 4-0, but the Good Guys rallied, scoring six runs in the sixth, and then hanging on, as Hayden got the last out in the ninth, to secure a 6-5 win. Rachel Leigh Cook made one bad pitch on Saturday night, but it turned out to be a Grand Slam, first inning homer. That was all the Braves needed, to end the Good Guys four game winning streak, and shut them out, 4-0. Sunday's game, a 105pm contest between Kate Hudson and John Smoltz, started out as the usual Hudson-Smoltz pitching duel, as Kate gave up one run in eight innings, fanning ten, and Smoltz punched out nine Good Guys in his seven innings of work. Suddenly, in the bottom of the eighth, two Braves errors opened the doors, and then the Good Guys kept hitting, and hitting. At the end of the inning, they had eight runs, and everyone figured the Braves were finished for the day. Not so. In the ninth, Naomi came in with the eight run lead, and got hammered. Several batters later, the Braves had four runs, and Hayden was facing slugger Mark Texiara with the bases loaded, as the tying run. Mark hit a long fly ball, that was caught by Mitch, to end the wild 9-5 game, that was not anything like the final score would have indicated.
Houston entered Paradise on Monday, for the homestand's final series. Gil Bellows pitched on Monday. The Good Guys scored four early runs, and Gil had an easy game, winning 4-1. Charlize Theron took the ball on Tuesday night. She pitched well, but lost, 3-1. Neve Campbell took the mound on a sunny. dry, 82 degree Paradise Wednesday afternoon, in front of a sellout. Neve gave a quality start, allowing three runs in six innings. The game was tied, 3-3, before Paradise got the go ahead run in the eighth. Hayden walked a tightrope in the ninth, but got out of trouble, and the Good Guys completed a 4-3 win, and a wonderful seven and two homestand. There had been a complete 360 from the previous homestand, and, as the team prepared to head to the Big Apple the next night, everything was looking up.
In the meantime, the team held its Saturday tickle party, following the loss to the Braves. The featured lee would be 20 year pld petite actress Ellen Page, who had appeared in such movies as X-Men, The Last Stand. She was tied in a bra and panties, hands and feet to the bed, in the middle of the fetish club. Second baseman Russell began the tickle on Ellen's neck with fingers, as her head shifted, and the giggles began:HEEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHHEE! Working down, pitcher Gil Bellows was next, tickling Ellen on her underarms, sides, ribs, and belly with fingers, as she thrashed, and squealed:HHEEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! Finally, Mitch positioned himself at Ellen's bare feet, and tickled them with his fingers, two feathers, and an electric toothbrush, over her bare soles, and toes. Ellen went beserk, wiggling her toes every which way, and squealing with laughter:HEHEHHEHEHEHHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEE! OMG PLEASE NO MORE TICKLE! I GIVE UP ALREADY! NOOOOOOOO! HEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEE! Finally, the tickle ended, and Ellen was untied.
On Thursday night, Naomi drove Mitch to Nassau International, so that he could catch the team flight to JFK Airport in New York. "Wonderful homestand both on field, and off this time. Hope we can go for two in a row next time. Have a good trip, and I will see you next Sunday" Naomi said, kissing Mitch goodbye.
