The Good Guys embarked on their road trip to California. They went only four and five on the nine game trip, as they won two of three in San Francisco, before losing two of three in both San Diego, and Los Angeles. They returned home, at midnight, on a Sunday, to begin a nine game homestand.
While Mitch was away on the trip, the volcanic state that had existed between Naomi and him on the last homestand, began to abate, at least a little. The couple did not talk much, as Naomi busied herself with social activities at night, and, while she did call him, and look for him online a couple of times, their communication was far from consistent.
As Mitch tried to catch a nap on the Sunday evening flight home to Nassau from Los Angeles, he did not feel happy. Mitch was weary of the issues he had with Naomi for nearly a quarter century, and often wondered what it would have been like, to have had another wife. In the ninth, the bullpen got into, and out of, trouble, to come away with a 6-4 Good Guy, win, that finished off a fine six and three homestand. The team seemed to be hitting and pitching well, and, as they prepared to head to Washington DC the next night, all seemed stable.
In the meantime, the team held its Saturday tickle party, following the loss to the Phillies. The featured lee would be Kristin, a cute young woman, with high hair, who often styled the Good Guys players hair.
