The Good Guys embarked on their first road trip of the year. Things did not start well, as they lost three in a row to the Mets in New York, in their first road series of the year. Fortunes then improved, as the team won two of three in both in Atlanta, and Houston, which, while resulting in a still losing road trip, at least turned the mood of the team around.
While Mitch was away, relations between he and Naomi continued to deteriorate. Often times, after games, Mitch would talk to Naomi, either online, or on the phone, often waiting up to one hour, surfing the net in his hotel room, or waiting for the phone to ring, if he had called or emailed her, and she was not available. Once the hour was up, the couple had agreed Mitch could leave. Now, even if he waited the hour, or he left, after, for example, 58 or 59 minutes, he would receive cursing, berating e-mails from Naomi on his laptop, with claims that he was trying to "Get her to go away". Mitch disputed that claim, telling Naomi that if he really wanted her to go away, he would have filed for divorce, either long ago, or at that point. Clearly, it seemed like both partners were jockeying for their postions, with neither one really making any progress for the long term health of the marriage. It was not a formula for long term success.
When Mitch arrived home from Houston, on Sunday night, he headed to the guest room, which he knew would be his domain for the next ten days.
The next night, the Good Guys opened their homestand, their second of the year, against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Kate Hudson started, and she pitched a gem, allowing only one run in eight innings, as Paradise broke a 1-1 tie with a run in the eighth, for a 2-1 win. Gil Bellows pitched on Tuesday, and was supported by three homers, in what would be a 4-0 victory. Charlize Theron had the ball on Wednesday night. She gave up five runs in six innings, and while the team tried to fight back, they fell short, 5-4.
Thursday was an off day. That day, the couple showed up to counesling "Seperate bedrooms, silence, ranting e-mails, same shit. It just never gets any better. She sends me berating, cursing e-mails, if I'm supposed to wait online for her for an hour, and I accidently leave after 59 minutes. It is just this caustic battle all the fucking time. It's tiresome, and uncalled for." Mitch said.
Chicago came to town on Friday night. Neve Campbell had the starting assignment. She gave up three runs, but Paradise could not score enough, and was defeated, 3-2. Rachel Leigh Cook took a 5-0 bashing on Saturday night, which was the Good Guys third straight loss. Kate Hudson had the ball, on a sunny, dry, 80 degree Paradise Sunday, in front of a sellout. Kate injected some life into the team, giving up but two hits, and striking out nine, into the ninth inning. A 2-0 Good Guy lead became 2-1, and Hayden was needed for the final out, of a game Kate got credit for the win for, in a 2-1 triumph.
St Louis entered Paradise on Monday night, for the final series of the homestand. Gil Bellows pitched well on Monday, but took a 2-1 defeat, as the Good Guys committed two errors, in what was the team's fourth loss in the previous five games. Charlize Theron pitched a decent game on Tuesday night, allowing three runs in six innings. The game was tied, 3-3 in the eighth, before Ed Burns popped a solo long ball, in what turned out to be a
4-3 Good Guy win. Neve Campbell had the ball, on a sunny, dry, 83 degree Paradise Wednesday afternoon, in front of a sellout. Neve allowed only one run in six innings, as the team broke a 1-1 tie in the seventh with three tallies. Things got interesting in the ninth, as Hayden allowed a run, and had men on base, before finally getting the final out, of a 4-2 Good Guy win, that completed a subpar, but winning, five and four homestand. The team was far from at its sharpest, but, with Mitch and Naomi in trouble, they accepted the winning homestand, and hoped to do better during the next homestand.
In the meantime, the team held its Saturday tickle party. The featured lee would be a beautiful blonde, who was a known member of the tickling community. She was tied hands and feet to the bed, in the middle of the fetish club, in a bra and panties. Center Fielder Burns began the tickle on the blonde's neck with fingers, as her head shifted, and the giggles began:HEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! Finally, Mitch positioned himself at the blonde's feet, and tickled them with fingers, feathers, ice, and an electric toothbrush, over her toes and soles. The blonde went beserk, wiggling her toes every which way, and squealing with giggles and laughter:HEHEHHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! OMG PLEASE NO MORE! I GIVE UP! NOOOOOO! HEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEH! Finally, the tickle ended, and the blonde was untied.
On Thursday night, Mitch was packed to head on the road trip to Pittsburgh. He called a cab. "Where are we going, Naomi?" Mitch said. "I dont know" Naomi replied. "Okay, well, you think about it, and hopefully we will at least talk more when I'm here next time" Mitch said. Mitch then left the apartment, to catch his cab to the airport, so that he could meet the team flight to Pittsburgh.
