They began by dropping two of three games in both New York and Atlanta, before winning two of three games in Houston. They returned home, on a Sunday night, to begin a nine game homestand, against the teams from the Midwest.
When Mitch arrived home on Sunday night, Naomi and he made love. As he lied in bed next to Naomi, Mitch realized that he could never really predict where their marriage was headed to next. Gil was also shaky, giving up four runs in his six innings of work. This time, the Good Guys trailed, 4-2 into the eighth, before exploding for five seventh inning runs to take the lead. This time the Good Guys could not recover, and were saddled with a 5-3 defeat.
Thursday was an off day. That day in counesling, Mitch felt sullen. He treaded lightly when it came to venting his feelings about the rollercoaster he felt he was living in. It seemed better to him to be dissatisfied, and to get sex, and tickling, than it did to enter counesling, blow up at Naomi, and end up with his residence in the guest room for ten days. His way, he still had a body to make love to, feet to kiss, and sides to tickle. The other way would just cause issues. Mitch wasnt really sure what to do, but he knew he wanted to mantain tranquility, at least for now.
Chicago came to town on Friday night. Neve Campbell allowed only three runs in six innings, as the Good Guys broke a 3-3 tie, with three runs in the seventh, and came away with a 6-3 win. Rachel Leigh Cook pitched well on Saturday night, but could not get any runs. Cook gave up only one run through six innings, but was the losing pitcher, in a 2-0 setback. Kate Hudson had the ball on a sunny, dry, 84 degree Paradise Sunday, in front of a sellout. That day, with an extra day of rest, Kate was electric, striking out fifteen Cubs. The Good Guys got a three run seventh inning homer from Ed Burns, which was all they needed, for Kate to complete the 3-0, two hit shutout win.
St Louis entered Paradise on Monday night. Gil Bellows was the pitcher. Gil got hit hard, allowing four runs in five innings, in what would be a 4-2 loss. Charlize Theron pitched on Tuesday night. Charlize kept the team in the game, giving up three runs in six innings, a quality start. The Good Guys broke a 3-3 tie with four eighth inning runs, and then had to watch, as the bullpen almost gave it all back. After two runs had scored, and there were men on base, Heigl finally put out the fire, for a 7-5 win. Neve Campbell took the mound, on a sunny, dry, 80 degree Paradise day, in front of a sellout, on Wednesday afternoon. Neve was sharp that day, allowing only one run in seven innings. The game was tied, 1-1 into the ninth, before a base hit won it for Paradise, to send the Good Guys to the road with a good feeling, and a 2-1 Paradise win, that completed a six and three homestand. On the surface, the six and three homestand was positive, but yet, Mitch and Naomi were far from great, and the team, in spite of the record, still was having some shaky times. As they packed to head to Pittsburgh, the standings said they were doing well, and they had to work to iron out the kinks.
The team held its Saturday tickle party, following the loss to the Cubs. The featured lee would be a beautiful Asian girl, who was the manager of Mitch's favorite chinese resturant. The hot Asian was tied hands and feet to the bed, in a bra and panties. Finally, Mitch positioned himself at the manager's feet, and tickled them with fingers, two feathers, ice, and an electric toothbrush over her soles and toes. On Thursday night, Naomi drove Mitch to Nassau International, so that he could catch the team's charter flight to Pittsburgh. "Stable homestand. Now go off, play well, and I'll see you a week from Sunday" Naomi said, kissing Mitch goodbye.
