The Good Guys finished their regular season on the road, going five and four on a nine game trip. Kate Hudson continued to pitch in a subpar manner. So, during the trip, Elmont Koehler and Lee Sniderman held a team meeting, and floated what they thought was an ingenious idea. "Kate Hudson's arm is extremely tired, in all likelihood from the innings she has logged this year. This is an extreme concern as we enter the playoffs. What would all of you think, if, for the playoffs, we went with a rotation of Bellows, Theron, Campbell, and maybe Naomi or someone else from the pen, and used Kate as our closer?" Elmont said. The team looked at the manager and GM with puzzled looks "Can we do that?" Mitch asked. "Katie seems to burn it for a while, and then loses it. She is a top pitcher. Why not use her to burn out the opposition in the ninth? Look what Atlanta did with Smoltz for several years. This can work. She strengthens our bullpen, and gives us a weapon at the end of the game. What good is it if her fastball is gone by the fourth inning, and she gets lit up?" Elmont said. "I'm willing to try it, if it means we win a championship" Kate said. "Okay, so done then" Elmont said.

With Kate in tow as the closer, the Good Guys embarked on their playoff odyessy at home on a Tuesday, against the Phillies. Gil Bellows was the Game One starter in the Division Series at home. The Good Guys scored two early runs, Bellows gave up one, and then Amanda Bynes, and Hillary Duff got the Good Guys to the ninth. With a one run lead, Kate warmed up in the pen, and then entered the game to a standing ovation. Kate was charged up, and sported a 97 mile per hour fastball. She struck out the dangerous Ryan Howard, and got two other power hitters on a pop up and a ground out, to get the save, for a 2-1 opening game win. In the happy postgame clubhouse, Elmont said. "Secret weapon one works for Game One. We need ten more wins, before we can celebrate anything" Charlize Theron pitched Game Two. She allowed three runs, but the Good Guys rallied from a 3-0 deficit, to score five runs in the sixth. Once again, the bullpen carried them to the ninth, and Hudson entered. Her fastball was not quite as lively, but she had a forkball, and got the outs she needed, for her second save of the series, in a 5-3 Good Guy win, giving the team a two game to none lead.

The teams flew to Philadelphia, and, after an off day Thursday, met for Game Three on Friday night. Neve Campbell pitched, and got hit hard, giving up four runs. This time Paradise could not rally, and fell short, by one run,
4-3. Gil Bellows pitched again in Game Four. The Good Guys, charged up, and wanting to end the series, scored four times in the early innings. Bellows carried Paradise to the ninth, when Kate again got the final out, this time in a non save situation, for a 4-0 Good Guy win, to send the Good Guys to the NLCS against the Mets, that Tuesday night.

The Good Guys flew home, worked out, and rested, before Game One of the NLCS in Paradise. Charlize would begin the NLCS. Paradise nicked Met starter Johan Santana for one run, which was all they needed, as Charlize fired shutout ball to the eighth, and combined with Hudson, for a 1-0 win, to draw first blood. Neve Campbell pitched Game Two. The Good Guys led 4-0 after one inning, but Neve could not hold it, and was gone by the fourth inning. A collection of relievers including Naomi, Bynes, and Duff, held the Mets down, as Paradise kept piling on runs, in what would be a 13-5 laughter, to push them halfway to the World Series.

The teams flew to New York, and worked out Thursday, before Game Three on Friday night. Hayden, in the rotation for the playoffs, switching spots with Hudson, pitched very well in Game Three, allowing only one run in six innings. However, the bullpen came in with a 1-1 tie, and allowed an eighth inning run, one which stood up for the Mets, who got ther first win of the series, by a 2-1 score. Charlize pitched again in Game Four. It was a back and forth seesaw battle, as Paradise piled a four run lead, and again blew it. The game remained tied until the eighth, when the Good Guys scored two runs. Hudson made it interesting in the ninth, but got a fly out with two men on, to nail down a 6-4 win, and put the Good Guys one win from the World Series. Neve Campbell went to the mound for Game Five, hoping to end the series. It was not to be, as the Mets led 5-0 after one inning. The Good Guys tried to fight back, but fell a run short, as the Mets put out their lights, sending the series back to Paradise, with a 5-4 Met win.

The teams flew back to Paradise, and rested Monday, before Game Six on Tuesday night, in front of a rocking Good Guy Stadium crowd. Hayden would try to finish the series for the Good Guys. The Good Guys got the crowd frenzied, when they scored five first inning runs. Hayden, however, got hammered, and was out of the game by the fifth inning. The Mets first tied the game, and then took the lead, until the Good Guys finally scored a run in the bottom of the eighth. In the ninth, Kate Hudson came in. She struck out Carlos Beltran, got David Wright to fly out, and threw strike three past Carlos Delgado, to give the Good Guys the National League title! In the clubhouse, the team was happy, but.. "This is good, but no boasting, until we go one more mile" Mitch said.

The Good Guys would face the Yankees in the World Series, which would begin with Game One in Paradise on Saturday night. In front of a rocking crowd of more than 60,000, on a seventy seven degree clear evening, the Good Guys began the Big Dance against the Yankees. Gil Bellows was the starter. Gil was very good, allowing two runs in six innings. The Good Guys broke a 2-2 tie with a pair of runs in the sixth. The bullpen then took over, and Kate Hudson did her October thing in the ninth for the save, and a 4-2 win, that drew first blood. Charlize pitched Game Two. This game was a bit tougher, as the Yankees scored two early runs. Paradise fought back, tying the game, and taking the lead, until the Yankees made it interesting by getting two eighth inning runs. The bullpen then took over, and Kate finished the deal in the ninth, for a 5-4 Good Guy win, that put Paradise halfway to the mountain top.

The teams flew to New York, and met at Yankee Stadium, for Game Three on Tuesday night. Neve Campbell was the starter. The Yankees blasted her, taking a 5-0 lead, before Paradise fought back. They made it 5-1, and then 5-2, and 5-3, and finally, 5-4, until Mariano Rivera finished them in the ninth, leaving them one run short. Bellows pitched in Game Four. He dueled with Yankee starter Chin Min Wang to a 1-1 tie until the seventh, when an error opened the door for three runs off Wang. This time Queen Hudson had trouble in the ninth, and had to turn to Naomi, to get the final out, for a 5-2 Good Guy win, that put them one win from the ultimate happy ending. Charlize Theron went to the park for Game Five, trying to finish it for Paradise. It was not to be, as she allowed two Yankee homers, and the Yankees never looked back. Once again, the Good Guys tried to rally late, but could not, and they ended on the short end of a 4-3 score, that sent the series back to Paradise.

After an off day on Friday, 60,000 staged a love in on Saturday night, hoping to propel their team to the title. Neve Campbell started Game Six. She pitched very, very well, allowing only one run in her six innings of work. The Good Guys rallied from a 1-0 deficit, to score two runs in the sixth. Naomi pitched a spotless seventh, Amanda Bynes held the Yankees down in the eighth, and, in the ninth, the bullpen doors swung open, and out strode Kate Hudson, needing three outs, to propel her team to the ultimate. The first batter popped up, and the next one grounded out. Arod stood between the Good Guys, and a title. Hudson, pumped up, fired two 97 MPH fastballs past Arod, one that he swung thru, and one that he fouled off. After two more foul balls, and two balls, Hudson pumped up harder, and fired a high fastball. Arod swung, and missed! The World Series was over! Kate Hudson, as the closer, had propeled the Good Guys to a World Championship! After the final pitch, Hudson pumped her arms in the air, in a V, as the catcher raced to the mound, and hugged her, and the jubilant team joined in! Yes, this time the never say die Paradise Islanders, had pulled a rabbit out of a hat, and, had put their struggling ace starter in the bullpen, and she had pitched brillantally, in the postseason, to carry them to the title! The team celebrated on the field, as the ecstatic crowd celebrated in the stands. Finally, the team made its way to the clubhouse, after paying homage to their loyal fans. The media closed in, and the trophy was presented. "Elmont, this team never ceases to amaze. Hudson struggles, and it looked like you guys were done. You make her the closer, and she is awesome in the playoffs" The TV reporters said. "It was a gutsy move. We went on a hunch. Katie has always been our horse, and we wanted to help her by limiting her innings. She was amazing in this postseason. Without her as our closer, we wouldnt be standing here as champs right now" Elmont said. Kate, of course, was named World Series MVP. The team then had a celebration dinner, and retired for the night.

The next day, at the parade, the mood was ecstatic. Everyone wanted to know if Kate was the closer next year. "I dont know, we have to talk about that over the winter" Kate said. The members of the team gave speeches, at which time Mitch announced. "No suspense. We loved this so much, Naomi and I will be back next year" He said, to a roar from the crowd.

In the meantime, the team held its final yearly tickle party, before the wintertime. The featured lee would be World Series MVP Hudson. She was tied hands and feet to the bed, in the middle of the fetish club, in a bra and panties. Center Fielder Burns began the tickle on Hudson's neck with fingers, as her head shifted, and the giggles began:HEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEH! NO! Working down, pitcher Gil Bellows was next, attacking Kate on her underarms, sides, ribs, and belly with fingers, causing her to thrash:HEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEE! Moving down, left fielder Dawson was the next ler, attacking Kate on her hips, inner thighs, and knees with fingers, causing her legs to buck:HEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEE! Finally, Mitch positioned himself at Kate's feet, and tickled them with fingers, feathers, and an electric toothbrush. Kate went beserk, wiggling her toes every which way, and begging for mercy:HHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE!OMG PLEASE NO MORE! I GIVE UP! NOOOOOOO! HEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! Finally, the tickle ended, and Kate was untied.

So, it had been a happy ending to the postseason, with an ingenious decision by management the deciding factor. Now came the restful winter. What would happen next year? That answer to come in the continuing story of the Tickle Team From Paradise Island.

The End

World Champs again and the victory has never come in this style. It was really interesting to see how Kate fit in there with her end run there. So Naomi is going to come back to baseball because she had originally said this was it? I am glad to have them together still on the field. Another great one and I look forward to the next one.

Thank you, happy, your praise is appreciated as always. Yes, that was a novel idea to make Kate the closer. You may have heard of the great Braves pitcher John Smoltz? He was a top notch starter for many years, until at the end of 2001 Braves manager Bobby Cox made him a closer, due to arm problems. Thus, that is where I got the idea to make Kate the closer for the postseason. As for Naomi, she was going through one of her upset periods when she announced her retirement, but a championship made her see the light. Mitch may have been speaking from excitement, when he announced she was coming back, but I have a feeling he wont have to persuade her too hard to return. Now we'll have to see what decision is made over the winter about Kate, and if she remains a closer, or goes back to being a starter.

As you know, stay tuned, there will be more to come soon, likely tomorrow.

Mitch
