We are currently planning a gathering for October. I know thats a long time off but we (nylonsnfeet and I) were thinking it would be easier for people to plan the time off and travling if we posted early. Plus I need to know about how many people are wanting to come so I can find a sutible location

I have been looking into locations to have it and have come up with a couple vacation house rentals that might be a good fit. Renting a house would keep the cost for everyone lower than if we all got our own hotel rooms. Not only will the beds be cheaper but they have kitchens too. The site I have been looking at is http://www.vrbo.com and in the Puget Sound section. My first choice is one in Bremerton the link is http://www.vrbo.com/100210 I looked at Bremerton and Bainbridge Island because you can take the ferry to and from. Bremerton has better rates of the two. This house sleeps about 6 or 7 with room for airmattresses and what have you. If we have a lot of people coming I have extra room at my house to a select few.

Your welcome to look through the site for other towns/cities that would make a better fit. Im always open to sigestions.

Date wise is still up in the air but how is the begining to middle for everyone? We were thinking of staying on a Friday night till a Sunday morning.

My gf, as a vet, goes to a conference up in Portland sometime in Oct. I can see if this will coincide. She may not be able to get away but I may be up thatway OR... probably can travel :)
 
There are some dedicated tickle folk, myself among them, in Alaska. Usually not easy for us to make a munch in Seattle but we may be able to make the October event if acceptable to the organizers. We probably need to figure out a way for you to get to know us and vice versa. Thanks for your leadership for the NW tickle community.

My how quickly life can change! (and an offer)

Hello all,
I have not been on here for several months. My wife filed for divorce in April and my life has been very chaotic since. But I have now settled down and am getting my life back in order (or at least trying to).
So here is my offer: I am living in a log cabin in Arlington. It is situated on 5 acres on the Stilliguamish river. Lots of woods, trails, etc. The cabin has two big loft bedrooms, a full kitchen, dining room, living room, etc. and satelite TV, internet, and THREE fireplaces. There is also plenty of room for RV's or tents. Arlington is about a one hour drive from downtown Seattle (north).
If anyone is interested I would be glad to host a gathering. I might be able to post some pictures of the place if I can get my camera to work and there is any interest. I think we could easily sleep 10 or 12 in the cabin and pretty much unlimited number in RV's and / or tents.

Thanks Diz! I do appreciate the offer the only thing that makes me hesitate is that its for sale and priced to sell. If we were to plan the gathering for October and they sold it by then we might not have enough time to book another location. I'll talk to John about it though. It is a very cute house! The other thing is tent camping in October would be to cold. If you want to try and do another gathering before the camping season is over I could help you with that but Im not sure I could attend since Im really busy in the next month or so.

We will be having a special female guest at the October gathering! Not going to tell who it is just yet but know she won lee of the year at her local gathering last year.:rotate:

The add SAYS it is priced to sell, but the fact is he is asking almost double what most would pay for it. Also, I have to be given 60 days termination notice - we're almost there already.
As for October being too cold for tent camping? For you maybe but not for a lot of people.
I am just making an offer of what is availible. People can make their own decisions. So much depends on just how many and who would like to do this. I'm trying to give as many people as possible as many options as possible. Some may be fine with sleeping in sleeping bags on the floor but others may need more privacy. I want to make it as inviting as I can for everyone.

Yes I did think it was kinda spendy. I do appreciate the offer! We will discuss it at the munch on the 16th as many dont have transportation. I have had a few people from Canada interested in the gathering too so it could be a good turn out. I dont mind sleeping on the floor personally. Do you have room for air mattresses? I have a couple I could bring. Anyways it is an option Im still considering.

Thank you, diz, for the offer. Does sound like a viable option. Been thru Arlington many times on my way to Winthrop, via North Cascades Highway. Nice, quiet, relaxing environment. As Anna said, something we can discuss at Aug. munch.

Biggest issue I foresee is privacy

Hello all,
Three air mattresses would fit in each bedroom along with the one bed and the one futon that are in there. We could put another one or two in the living room.
The biggest issue for some might be privacy. Both of the bedrooms are loft bedrooms and open to below. We could possibly hang sheets or blankets up for visual privacy.
I will try to get pictures of the inside posted before the August munch. Or if anyone wants to see it in person they are more than welcome. You can Mapquest the address or send me a PM if you want.

Vancouver, BC here! I'm coming down from Canada to join.

I've been trying in vain to get a Tickling Munch going on here in Vancouver but to no avail.

Good to hear you're having some success.

Can I suggest you use an Immobilizer table for tickling. A bed is too flimsy and the person can just thrash around.

But maybe that's what you want but I'd think an Immobilizer table would restrain the ticklee better.

An Immobilizer table is used in some older Realtickling clips. The arms and legs are spread apart
 
I personally dont have an immobilizer but if someone wanted to bring one that might be fun. Someone was talking about bringing stalks.....

Ah, but the squirming is so sexy. Don't want to immobiliz them TOO much. I'm happiest just restraining at the wrists and ankles.
 
So what's happening with the October gathering?

The "semi-mandatory" September munch was sparsly attended my myself and two other males, but we did all agree that we wanted to continue to plan for an October gathering. My house in Arlington is still available.
It was my hope that it would be a comfortable place to spend a weekend away. I even figured on cooking for everybody (because I LIKE to). If nothing else, we could get to know each other better and become more comfortable with each other and, if the mutual desire is there, there may be opportunity to engage in a favorite pastime. But for sure we can eat some good food; paly some card or board games, watch some movies; go on a walk in the wods or down to the river; listen to me on the piano (assuming my finger heals up); or even go up to one of the many casinos almost within walking distance.
BUT . . . come on girls - this isn't supposed to be a stag party! There are lots of you around that have expressed a desire to partake of this, but you have to be here! For what it is worth, I will do anything and everything I can to make sure you are comfortable here while at my home.

Anna: Since you are officially in charge, this can't happen without your input. PM or call me and lets work out some details and get this show on the road.

sorry i haven't been able to make any of the munches. i don't think i would be able to attend the october gathering anyway, but please keep me updated on munches as they resume after that.

I really hate to do this. But Im not going to be able to do this gathering. Im sorry its last minute! Im not usually such a flake. I have alot going on with a family illness and my heart just isnt in this right now (thus all the procrastination). I was tickled last night by 2 friends and it was good but with my husband being deployed (he's been gone 3 months and will be gone for another year) all it did was make me miss him. I've desided to take a break from all this while he is gone. Dont get me wrong I still love it and I always seem to want it but without him it isnt the same. It took me a few years to love tickling the way I do and I dont want that to change. Maybe Im wrong but this is what I've desided.
 
Aw, sorry t'hear yer missin' him. Hope his deployment is safe and passes quickly for you both.

im not really able to mke the munches but would love to come too a gathering in the bremerton area, i would love to have a safe tickle with someone but its not something alot of people will do without a meeting 1st. i cant expect people to know im safe( even though i am). do you know someone or can help me??? thx heat
