I know that we disagree at times on music, Crystal, but how would you feel if I did my own show that's mostly music? I have been thinking about it for a while and it wouldn't be anything tied in with TMF Radio.

As for redoing the 80s show, it's something I would definitely consider. I don't know how Rob would feel about it though.

How about some input from others, do you think our music themed shows should be more focused on the music over our normal format?

No i like the regular format though one or 2 more songs would have been ok...:happyfloa

I would so be there, babes. That's a kick ass idea.

Well, hopefully he can..I enjoyed the show, but I was figuring we'd roll more with the theme, ya know?

Something a bit more then the 80's break music.

Maybe you could threw some type of 80's mix together also, and you two coulda taken callers from people talkin' bout some of the shit from the 80's that they liked/disliked and whoever came up with the most unique response coulda won an e-comic or something?

I dunno. One of you guys shoot me a PM if ya want more ideas or whatever, I'll help in any way.

If you were to do your own music show in a different slot it would be pretty cool....

Rob, if you decide to do an 80s show again, I'd be really interested in helping out if you'd be willing.

In fact, I'd actually be in favor of at least every now and then shows that are more music based, even if they're not a regular thing.

It was actually better than usual, because too many songs gets boring, unless they are lulzy. Except if you play Pink Floyd. You can never play enough Pink Floyd...

OOOOooooooooooo Brighty you are cruisin for a bruisin :whip:

Yea Jay, I'd definitely tune in if you did a music show outside of the permanent time slots. Tell us when and where! It seems it might have a pretty good draw considering the amount of people who would like to see a music section of the forum.

Well this thread is giving me some food for thought.

I will certainly consider all the suggestions. Perhaps an 80's part 2 is not too much to ask for and to do.

Lastly I would suggest that this post be moved to the TMF Radio discussion forum. After all we have our own subforum for discussion. Announcements I think are good for the other forums, announcing shows and such, special events. But discussion like this I think would be better off in the TMF Radio sub-forum.

Thanks again all...

Rob

Maybe so. You should make sure you have a whole 80s theme going somehow in general perhaps just for the mood. :p

Also, I agree on the Radio Discussion part. I mean really, why is it so largely being used ONLY for direct topics that are there to advertise certain shows? Feels like it's being under-utilized, with so many people posting topics in other sections just so people that only look in those sections will see it or whatever. If people were interested in the TMF radio, they would look at the section for it I'd think. But maybe that's just me...

Yeah.

Honest mistake.

Reported it.

Anyways, yeah. Rock on, man.

Let me clear up what I meant from my first post on this.

I think it is fine and great to not only announce TMF Radio upcoming broadcasts, ideas, contests, and even funny things from the shows people enjoy or topics from them in General Discussion, Tickling Discussion, etc.
But when there are suggestions and stuff they should go to the TMF Radio discussion.
A part of TMF Radio that I and all the other hosts try to do is to get more listeners. Again not for some "props" or "adoration" but to get more people involved with something fun, something real-time and the ability to give back to the community in ways that posting and such can not do.
I do not write stories much anymore, I do not draw at all. I rarely upload clips and I do not produce videos. My show is my way to give back to the community that has given me so much.
Again I ask that people give the shows a chance. Give a listen and hopefully you will find something that will bring you back every week, every other day or every day.

If the MODS have a problem where TMF Radio type threads are placed they will move them themselves. I merely suggested moving this thread because it would to me seen as more of a discussion of the show itself, not so much funny things that happened or something like that.

No offense meant to anyone, including the OP. Just my thoughts.

Rob

I don't think this thread started as a "here's things to make the show better". It was Crys taking a shot a Rob because he robbed us of our 80's show dammit!! :jester: Suggestions started popping up as the discussion unfolded. But while on the topic, the Radio discussion forum is not there "just" for promoting shows, it's just not all that many other people post there at all. (which is what I think you are trying to say) I'm sure all the hosts would love for that section to have a lot of posts with suggestions and comments. But that is also the very reason they advertise in the other high traffic areas; to bring in more new listeners and let others know about the shows. It seems to be working too. Shows lately have new people joining and registering slowly all the time.

Just retouching on what I said above. No not everyone knows about the show to look there. Last couple of weeks had not only new people join the shows, but a few vets that even commented "wow this is my first show! Is this done every week?" which leads me to believe they didn't know.

And I totally agree they should follow a theme the whole night in that Rob should dress like Boy George for 80's night, the YMCA Indian for 70's night, etc :dogpile:

**Edit, WOW were 3 of us all posting at the same time? :P

I know that. Again, this is just what I thought. Thing is, if you wanna keep putting up such things in other sections, there should obviously be a limit. Like I suppose putting it up in the General and Tickling sections are fine. But as far as real discussion on it goes, I just find it kinda redundant that many threads are duplicated just so more people can see who don't look at anything else for whatever reason. Again, just how I see it, and other than that, yeah, that's what I was trying to say.

THats like limiting how many "who wants to tickle a celeb" threads....

At least the radio is trying to serve a purpose...
