Don LaFontaine, better known as the movie trailer guy, died yesterday at the age of 68.
Doesn't sound familiar? Sure he does....

Aw, that's sad. It's going to be different going to the movies and not hearing Don's voice in the previews. May he rest in peace.

I always recognized his voice when I heard it but I didn't really know who the man behind the voice was until I saw this commercial:

He was indeed the "main" movie trailer narrator guy. Now it looks like Peter Cullen (aka Optimus Prime) who was always the secondary movie trailer narrator guy will have to pick up the slack!
That is unfortunate thou, I'll miss hearing how his voice made even the lamest movies seem really cool.

LaFontaine was the man. I've often told friends "it's gonna suck when he's gone". He IS movie voice.

This trailer is awesome. One of the earliest trailers that Don LaFontaine did.
