The Good Guys finished the regular season on the road, and then returned home to Paradise, to begin their journey of October.

The National League Division Series began on the first Tuesday of October, in Paradise, against the Cubs. Gil Bellows was the starter in Game One. He allowed but one run, in six innings, as the Good Guys rallied from a 1-0 deficit in the seventh, to score two runs, and come away with a 2-1 win. Charlize Theron pitched Game Two. She gave a quality effort, scattering six hits, in six innings, while striking out six. The game was a 2-2 deadlock in the eighth, when Paradise scored the go ahead run. Kate Hudson finished Chicago in the ninth, and the Good Guys had a 3-2 victory, and a two game to none lead in the series.

The teams flew to Chicago, and took Thursday off, before playing Game Three at Wrigley Field on Friday afternoon. On a cold, windy day in Chicago, starter Neve Campbell got hammered, allowing five runs, in what would be a
5-2 setback for the Good Guys. Gil Bellows returned to the mound for Game Four. The Good Guys scored three early runs, as Bellows cruised, giving up only one run in eight innings. Kate Hudson finished the Cubs in the ninth, and the Good Guys advanced to the National League Championship Series, against the Mets, which would begin in Paradise, that Tuesday night.

The team flew home, took Sunday off, before working out on Monday, and then opening the NLCS against the Mets on Tuesday night. Charlize Theron opened the series, against the Mets Pedro Martinez. Pedro gave up two runs in six innings, but Charlize was even better, allowing but two runs in seven innings, and then turning it over to the bullpen, in what would be a 2-1 Game One win. Neve Campbell pitched Game Two, and this time kept her pitching in check, giving up three runs in six innings, as Mets starter John Maine got taken downtown three times, for four runs, as the Good Guys posted another one run win, by a 4-3 score.

The teams flew to New York, and worked out Thursday, before Game Three on Friday night. Gil Bellows started against the Mets Johan Santana. Bellows gave up one first inning homer, a solo shot, and that was all Santana needed, as he and Met closer Billy Wagner combined to shut the Good Guys out, 1-0. Charlize and Pedro would match up again for Game Four. Pedro allowed an early three run homer, and then settled down, giving up nothing else. Charlize, in the meantime, allowed one run in six innings, and then turned it over to the bullpen, as Naomi, Amanda Bynes, Duff, and finally Hudson, brought home the 3-1 victory, to put Paradise one win from a World Series rematch with the Yankees. That win did not come in Game Five, as Neve Campbell got hit hard for the second time in the post season, getting hit for six runs, in five innings, as the Mets sent the series back to Paradise, with a 6-3 win.

The Good Guys and Mets flew back to Paradise, and took Monday off, before playing Game Six, in front of a rocking Good Guy crowd, on Tuesday night. Gil Bellows would try to finish the Mets. Met starter Johan Santana opposed him, and this time he gave up a solo homer in the opening inning. Bellows fired eight innings of scoreless ball, before turning it over to Kate Hudson for the ninth. Hudson got a ground ball, and then a strikeout. Then, a popup to short, made Paradise the National League Champions, setting up a rematch with the Yankees, this time beginning in Paradise, that upcoming Saturday night.

The Good Guys worked out, and prepared for the Yankees, and their World Series date on Saturday night. Unlike other World Series openers, less than perfect weather blew into the Bahamas, and Game One started under overcast skies, with breezy conditions, but luckily no rain. Gil Bellows would start the series opener on three days rest, against the Yankees Chin Min Wang. Bellows gave up only two runs in his seven innings of work. The Good Guys trailed 2-1 in the seventh, before a suicide squeeze, and a base hit, brought home the go ahead runs. Kate Hudson entered for the ninth, and put the Yankees away, and the Good Guys had a 3-2 opening game win. The weather didnt improve for Game Two, as the skies were still overcast, but the showers stayed away. Charlize Theron had the ball in Game Two. Charlize allowed three Yankee homers, all solo shots, before the Good Guys rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the seventh, to score four runs. Kate Hudson again finished in the ninth, and the Good Guys had a 5-3 victory, and a two game to none lead.

The teams flew to New York, and worked out Monday, before Game Three at Yankee Stadium, on Tuesday night. Neve Campbell opposed Andy Pettite. Neve got hit hard, as the Yankees bolted out to a 5-0 lead. The Good Guys nearly fought back, but fell one run short, as Mariano Rivera put them down, for a 5-4 Yankee win, their first of the series. The Game One starters, Bellows and Wang, would match up again in Game Four. Both were good, allowing one run each , in six innings. In the seventh, against the Yankee bullpen, Paradise broke through for three runs. Kate Hudson had some trouble in the ninth, and had to turn it over to Naomi, who saved the day, a
5-2 Good Guy win, to put the Paradise team one win from a party. Charlize Theron tried to finish the Yankees on enemy territory in Game Five. Unfrortunately, it was not her night, as she allowed three homers. The Good Guys were down 3-0, and made it 3-2, before Rivera put them away. Now, they were going home, with two chances for a celebration.

After a light workout on Friday, the teams played Game Six in Paradise on Saturday night, under crystal clear skies. Neve Campbell went to the mound in the biggest game of her career. The Good Guys and Yankees traded runs, before Paradise brought the house down, when Ed Burns hit an eighth inning homer. Everyone figured, Kate Hudson would trudge to the mound for the ninth, get three outs, and it would be time to celebrate. Kate gave up a grounder, a deep fly, and a walk. Then, Arod came up, Kate made a mistake that was one inch too far inside, and Arod silenced a huge crowd, with a two run jack into the picnic area. A ballpark that was just seconds from a celebration, now had turned absolutely silent, as Arod had put a dagger into the Good Guys hearts. Rivera had little trouble in the ninth, and now, the series was tied 3-3, and, instead of drinking champange, the team now faced a very difficult Game Seven on Sunday night. The Good Guys were quiet, but stoic, in the interviews. "99 times out of a 100, Katie gets Arod. The guy is the best player in the game, and she was beaten by the best. Now, we have to try and shake this off, and play Game Seven tomorrow, as if this never happened" Mitch said.

Mitch and Naomi, who had not really been getting along during the playoffs, spent a quiet Sunday. The crowd that night at Good Guy Stadium was electric. Chin Min Wang would start for the Yankees, and Gil Bellows toed the rubber for the Good Guys. Elmont Koehler gave no rah rahs before the game, saying simply: "You folks have been here many times before. All you have to do is go out, and play your game. We just have to win a baseball game, thats all, just one game". So much easier said than done. The fans were delirious, desperately wanting the team to win, after the Good Guys had put them through eight innings of euprhoria, and one inning of heartbreak, the night before. After Bellows got the Yankees out, the Good Guys got the crowd into it, as a Yankee error led to three Good Guy runs. Of course, things didnt come easily for the Good Guys, as Bellows, not at his best, allowed the three runs right back. Then, the game was tied, until the sixth, at which point Naomi came in, and set the Yankees down. Amanda Bynes followed her in the seventh, and then Duff pitched the eighth, allowing nothing. In the bottom half, with the score tied, a Yankee error. Ed Burns came up, and hit the shot heard round the island, a two run laser over the center field wall. The crowd was now at fever pitch. Hudson started warming up, and entered the game, to a standing ovation. Hudson got a fly ball, and a ground out, and then issued a walk. Who else but Arod came up. Everyone held their breath. Kate got two strikes. Arod hit a fly ball. It was deep, but not home run distance. Mitch backed up, to the wall, and put it in his glove, and the Good Guys were World Champions!

Mitch clutched the ball hard, in his glove, and bent over, as the crowd, now sure he had the ball, erupted into screams of joy! Ed Burns came over, and Mitch and Burns exchanged a tearful hug, as left fielder Dawson came over, and the three put their arms around each other, in a circle, as "We Are The Champions" blared over the PA system. The entire team gathered in the infield, and congratulated each other, as Mitch and Naomi, who were not getting along, exchanged a brief hug, and pat on the back. The team stood in front of the seats, and waved their hats in the air, as the crowd gave them a love in. Then, the team made its way to the clubhouse, to accept the trophy, and for the interviews. "This is so wonderful. Katie had a rough night last night, but she is a trooper. She was great tonight, and now, here we are. I congratulate the Yankees. It is always awesome to play against them, and it was one hell of a series, but standing here on the winning side, feels a hell of a lot better, than the alternative" Mitch said. After the trophy presentation, the team prepared to go out to a celebration dinner. They had taken their showers, and Mitch and Naomi prepared to meet Cathy, who was sitting in the stands, when suddenly, Mitch and Naomi's oldest daughter Erin came running into the clubhouse screaming: "Dad! Mom! Cathy just went into labor in the stands! They took her to the hospital!" Mitch grabbed Naomi, and the two of them started running. Finding their cars, and getting out of the ballpark in the traffic, would not be easy. Finally, Mitch found one of the ballpark police officers, who he knew. "Can you help me, please, a good friend just went into labor, and was taken to the hospital. I need to get there!" Mitch said. The officer was accomdating, and turned on his lights, to get through the traffic. Within five minutes, they were at Paradise Hospital. Mitch ran into the ER like a madman, gasping for air. "C.. Cathy Ross, they just brought her in, she;s in labor". The desk nurse told Mitch that Cathy had been taken to the delivery room. Mitch and Naomi sank into chairs, and waited. One by one, the team, instead of going out to party, joined the couple at the hospital, for support. It was an all night wait, as Mitch, a nervous wreck, tried to keep himself calm. Finally, close to sunrise, about 7am, a doctor came out. "Mitch, you have a son. Mom and baby are fine. Cathy is sleeping, and the baby is in the nursery" The doctor said. Mitch closed his eyes, as tears began to roll down his face, at news of his fourth child. "Thank God". Mitch's family gathered around him, in a supportive hug. "Congratulations, Dad, I know you are going to be just a good a father to this one, as you were to all of us" Erin said. "Thank you, honey" Mitch replied. "I know we haven't been getting along lately, Mitchell, but I am happy for all of us. This is a wonderful addition to our family" Naomi said stoicly. Mitch kissed Naomi on the cheek. "Thank you, I know you really mean that". "I do, Mitchell" Naomi said.

Mitch went into Cathy;s room, and sat by her bed, waiting for her to wake up, which happened about two hours later. "Mitch?" "Hi, honey", Mitch said, kissing Cathy on the cheek. "What, what happened? What is it?" Cathy asked. "Its a boy, honey, a wonderful, healthy boy" Mitch said, pride filling his face. Cathy lied back on the pillow, tears in her eyes. "Thank God!". Cathy swallowed hard, and then said. "Thank you, Mitchell, thank you for making my baby dream come true. I love you" "It was my pleasure. I love you, too, sweetie. I look forward to raising this child with you, and to being the best dad I can" Mitch said. Mitch and Cathy decided to name the baby Christopher. Mom and baby came home from the hospital three days later, and Mitch, with Cathy's blessing, was able to make the team parade on the day his son was born, after missing the party the night before.

The team did hold one final tickle party, the night after Chris was born, before scattering for the winter. There were many featured lees. Mitch, as the new father, was one of the main targets. He was tied to the tickle table in boxer shorts. Charlize Theron began the tickle on Mitch's neck with fingers, as his head shifted, and the laughter began:HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHHAA! Working down, Neve Campbell was next, attacking Mitch on his underarms, sides, ribs, and belly, counting his ribs, as he howled:HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAA! NOOOOO! Moving down, Hilary Duff was the next ler, tickling Mitch on his hips, inner thighs, and behind his knees, causing his legs to buck:HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAA! Finally, Kate Hudson positioned herself at Mitch's feet, and tickled them with her fingers, feathers, and electric toothbrushes. Mitch went berserk, wiggling his toes, and shaking his feet:HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA! OMG OKAY! OKAY! NO MORE! NOOOOO! HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA! Finally, the tickle ended, and Mitch was untied.

So, it had been a magical October, with a World Championship, and a beautiful new arrival for Mitch. Now came the winter. How would the new arrival affect the family? That answer to come in the continuing story of the Tickle Team From Paradise Island.

The End
