The Good Guys embarked on their first road trip of the year. They began by losing two out of three in New York, before winning two of three in Atlanta , and losing two of three in Houston. They returned home, on a Sunday night, to begin a nine game homestand, their second of the year.
While Mitch was away on the trip, except for one e-mail exchange to Naomi about a minor matter, things did not improve for either of them. They still were not speaking, and, their situation had to raise question about whether what was going on between them was long term, or permanent.
The team opened its nine game homestand on Monday night, against the Pirates. Gil Bellows pitched, and Center Fielder Ed Burns hit a first inning two run homer, that was enough to support what turned out to be a three hit shutout by Gil Bellows, in a 2-0 victory. Charlize Theron took the ball on Tuesday night. She also gave a good effort, allowing one run in six innings, as Paradise broke a 1-1 tie with two eighth inning runs, in what turned out to be a 3-1 win. Neve Campbell was the hurler on Wednesday night. She pitched decently, allowing but three runs in six innings, but Paradise could not score any runs at all, in a 3-0 defeat.
Thursday was an off day. That day, the couple cancelled their counesling session. Mitch spent his day in the casino, and by the hotel pool, while Naomi went shopping.
Chicago came to town on Friday night. Rachel Leigh Cook started, and got hammered, allowing five runs in five innings, of a 5-1 loss. Hayden pitched on Saturday, and came through with a wonderful performance, firing seven shutout innings, as Paradise hit four solo homers in a 4-0 triumph. Gil Bellows had the ball on Sunday, a bright, sunny, 80 degree day, in front of a sellout. Gil gave up one run, a solo homer, in eight innings. The Good Guys had to go to the tenth. After allowing Chicago to take the lead, Paradise stormed back with two runs in the bottom of the tenth, for a 3-2 winning decision.
St Louis entered Paradise on Monday, for the homestand's last series. Charlize Theron allowed only three runs on Monday night in six innings, but the bullpen, trying to keep a 3-3 tie, allowed three runs in the seventh, for a 6-3 defeat. Neve Campbell pitched on Tuesday night. She got hit hard, allowing five runs in four innings, of what turned out to be a 7-4
setback. Rachel Leigh Cook had the ball on Wednesday afternoon, a bright, blue, 82 degree day, in front of a sellout. Cook pitched a wonderful game, going six strong innings, allowing one run, and striking out five. The Good Guys came up with three runs in the seventh inning, and the bullpen saved the day, with Kate Hudson getting the save in the ninth, of a 4-1 Good Guy win, that completed a subpar, but winning, five and four homestand. Mitch, deep in the throngs of troubles with Naomi, was not hitting, and the team was in a slump. As the team prepared to head to Pittsburgh the following night, it was not known what would snap them out of their doldrums.
In the meantime, the team held a special tickle party, on the Wednesday night of the last game of the homestand. The featured lee would be pitcher Neve Campbell, whom the team wanted punished, for her two losses on the nine day homestand. Neve was tied hands and feet to the bed, in the middle of the fetish club, in a bra and panties. Center Fielder Burns began the tickle on Neve's neck with fingers, as her head shifted, and the giggles began:HHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEE! Moving down, left fielder Dawson was the next ler, tickling Neve on her underarms, sides, ribs, and belly, with fingers, as she shrieked, as Burns counted her ribs:HEHEHEHHEEEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEHEHHHEEE! OMG NOOOOOOO! Working down, pitcher Gil Bellows joined in, attacking Neve on her hips, inner thighs, and knees with fingers, causing her legs to jerk:HEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEE! Finally, Mitch, his heart not into the playtime, due to the troubles with Naomi, tickled Neve's feet with fingers, feathers, and electric toothbrushes. Neve went beserk, wiggling her toes every which way, and squealing with laughter:HHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEE! OMG PLEASE NO MORE! I GIVE UP! NO MORE TICKLE! NOOOO! HEHEHEHEHEEEHHEHEHEHEHEHEEE! Finally, the tickle ended, and Neve was untied.
Mitch and Naomi did keep in seperate touch with Cathy as the couple dealt with their troubles. Mitch went to see his baby, but all playtime was shelved, until the issues could, or could not, be definitively sorted out.
On Thursday night, Mitch took a cab to Nassau International, to catch the team flight to Pittsburgh. No progress had been made on the personal issues during the ten days, and it remained to be seen, when, or if, it would be.
So, the star couple of Paradise remained in the status quo. Would progress be made? That answer to come in the continiuing story of the Tickle Team From Paradise Island.
