The Good Guys embarked on their next road trip. Again, it did not go particularly well. They began by dropping two out of three in New York, before losing two out of three in Atlanta, and finally winning two out of three in Houston. The team returned home, on a Sunday night, to begin a nine game homestand, against the teams from the midwest.
While Mitch was away on the road trip, he had time to engage in deep thought. Naomi, who was always riding him to have "proper protocol", in his behavior, had not really apologized, or redeemed herself, for failing to acknowledge the couple's anniversary. It seemed as though Naomi was great at preaching what she did not practice. While Mitch could have continued to hold it against Naomi for this issue, he decided it was best to let it drop. If he failed to, he would not get sex, or tickling, from either Naomi, or Cathy, during the upcoming homestand. Mitch felt that the best course of action was to concede losing the battle, to try and win the war.
When Mitch arrived home on Sunday night, he gave Naomi a normal greeting, trying to hide his hurt. "Are we okay?" Mitch asked. Naomi looked at him: "Yes, is there any reason why we wouldnt be?" Paradise scored only two runs, but Gil Bellows fired a six hit shutout, and the Good Guys won, 2-0. When Mitch and Naomi got home after the game, they went to the bedroom, where Naomi removed her closed toe shoes, and put her feet in Mitch's face. "There, I've done all my wifely duties with the extras you like. Now please let's keep doing well, so I can keep giving you that". Naomi said.
The following night, Charlize Theron gave up one run, and Paradise got a Grand Slam from Mitch, in a 4-1 win. Neve Campbell scattered five hits on Wednesday night, as Paradise hit three homers, in a 5-2 victory, to complete the three game sweep.
Thursday was an off day. That day, the couple showed up to counseling. "Are things with you two better? I havent seen you both for a while" The couneslor said. "The homestand has been good so far. We're trying to work on things" Naomi said. "That's good, I'm glad to hear it" The counselor replied. After thje session, Mitch and Naomi went to Cathy's. Cathy gave them warm kisses and hugs in greeting. "I'm so glad to see both of you. Things are better, I'm guessing" "Yes, they are. Now we both owe you some time, and some loving" Mitch said. St Louis entered Paradise on Monday, for the homestand's last series. Rachel Leigh Cook had the ball on Wednesday afternoon, a sunny, humid, 85 degree day, in front of about 35,000. Cook gave up three runs in six innings, as the Good Guys broke a 3-3 tie with three runs in the eighth, and the bullpen did the rest, for a 6-3 Good Guy win, that completed a fine six and three homestand. For the first time in a long time, things seemed very in sync, and now, as the team prepared to travel to Pittsburgh the next night, things looked very good.
The team held its Saturday tickle party, following the loss to the Cubs. The featured lee would be actress Amanda Seyfried. who had appeared with Meryl Streep in the movie Momma Mia.
