their soft blades waving in the silent breeze
It's cool, here, underneath the shade of our tree

complete
calm
content with...us
Your hand on my back, I've found where I fit, perfectly
My cheek on your chest, I rise and fall with our want to break rules
My eyes open and close from what might have been to what is

Or, I might let it slip, on purpose, just to be me
And I might ask for more, just to feel fulfilled
The others under the shade of their own groves nearby have no idea
The passerbys pass by every once in a while as if they were ghosts, searching for what we've found
And I hope you feel the same
I really do
I don't like to be alone, I don't like to hurt, or cry or stay awake at night
I don't like sharing and not getting
I don't like telling and not being listened to
I don't like asking and having to again
and again
I don't like kissing and not feeling as if I've lost something I might've found without
I can feel you sigh, I can hear you thinking
I think
And I don't know where to go from here, from underneath the shade of our tree
I close my eyes, listen to our shared silence and think of the words we'll write
strung together and beaded and shined like pearls
And I hope that's enough

I liked the addition at the end. This body of work actually made me reminisce about some of my relationships. You know it's good stuff when you can personalize it. Again, very nicely done.

All I can say is the person you write about is very blessed. I hope they live up to it.

Great writing. It makes me wonder what my life is truly missing.

But that is a good thing, I guess.
