The Good Guys embarked on their next road trip. They started the trip by splitting two games in Washington, while having a third game postponed by rain. The team then went to Philadelphia. They began by winning the first two games, and then had a huge lead in the final game, before coughing up a seven run advantage, as they ultimately lost in the ninth inning. The bad game in Philadelphia carried over to the next series in Cincinatti, where the Good Guys dropped the first two games, before winning the third one. The Good Guys returned home, on a Sunday night, to open a nine game homestand, against the teams they had opened the season with.
While Mitch was away on the road trip, events at home took a spiraling turn. First, Cathy's mother's condition greatly improved, which enabled Cathy to return home from Pennsylvania. As that was happening, however, Naomi's twin sister, Roxy, took very ill in Australia. Naomi tried to remain in Paradise, but ultimately decided she needed to go to Sydney to be with her sister. Naomi scheduled a midnight flight from Nassau on the Sunday that Mitch was returning home from the team road trip. As Mitch entered the apartment, Naomi was all packed to leave. Neve Campbell took the ball on Wednesday night, against the Mets Mike Pelfrey. Campbell got hit hard, as the Good Guys fell behind by five runs. Paradise, however, rallied to tie the game in the seventh, and then score two runs in the eighth, to complete the sweep of the Mets, with a 7-5 winning decision.
Thursday was an off day. With Naomi out of town, Mitch didnt have to go to counesling. He spent time with Cathy in the morning, saw his grown children in the afternoon, went to the casino with some of the team, and then returned to Cathy's.
