A TOUGH DAY FOR
MISS MUFFET
Little Miss Muffet sat on her tuffet eating her curds and whey,MISS MUFFET
Then along came a spider that sat down beside her and scared Little Miss Muffet away!
She screamed and ran into the forest and made a getaway!
Well my friends I must confess that’s what I’d like to say…
As she ran she tripped on a root, now on the ground she lay.
The spider, which was huge & quick, caught up with no delay.
It spun it’s web and trapped Miss Muffet as she yelled “nay nay nay!”
It rolled up her good and tight like a bail of hay.
All except her feet of course with which it sought to play.
It snatched her shoes off pretty quick, and she hollered “Hey!”
She tossed and turned and struggled, putting up quite a fray.
But alas, to no avail, the spider had caught its prey.
Soundly snared, she looked up at the spider, her heart full of dismay.
She lay there frozen on the ground like a fixture of clay.
Her bare soles were fully exposed to the light of day.
Next a sight could be seen, for which some would pay!
The spider began to tickle her foot with the feather of a blue jay!
She tossed & turned and laughed & giggled, in fact she seemed quite gay.
Now that she knew the spider won’t eat her, She would be OK!
For hours upon hours they continued in this way,
Until the spider finally said, “That’s enough for today.”
He continued, “I hope we can do this again someday!”
It cut her loose and disappeared in a spider-like display.
It turned around and shot its web like a smooth sticky ray,
And climb up from whence it came, the deep forest grey.
Miss Muffet staggered to her feet, her head in total disarray.
recovering her shoes she fled the scene, compelled not to stay.
Miss Muffet thought, “from now on when I want curds & whey,
I’ll stay in town, safe and sound, and eat at a café!”
THE END
NOTE: I THINK I'LL STICK WITH STORY TELLING!!!
