I was about to post within a different thread at another forum and I got this surprisingly helpful message:

<img src='http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/7976/fetwarning.jpg' border='0'/></a>

Is there anyway that we could implement that concept? I know in certain threads it's no big if it's bumped up. I'm not being specific about why it would be used, just so it's there and people can see it if they forgot to read the OP dates [[like i did in that thread. :p]]

I get a feeling this is pointless to even try to do, but I thought I'd try anyways.

They have this on one of the other mainstream forums I frequent. It's pretty cool and would be beneficial. It may give a heads up to people before they bump a 5 year old thread saying "this link is dead" or "hi there, I didn't take time to notice you haven't signed on in 8 years...so, what's your sign baby". :jester:

Sure it can be done. But the real question is will it stop the stupid people from bumping incredibly old threads.
