There was an episode of All in the Family where Archie was singing "Oh it's a long way to tickle Mary. We all want to tickle Mary. Cause Mary giggles so." I think it's one of those misunderstood song lyrics. Any of you that are old enough to remember All in the Family ever see that episode?

I loved that show. I simply do not remember that song. I will have to find that.

Well i am 23 but i have seen every episode about 10 times so yes i remember it quite well. As i recall it ended with. But no one ever kisses Mary. Cause she caught V.D.

I would say he was playing off the British music hall song, "Its A Long Way Too Tipperary"...but I have never seen it.

I LOVED that episode! I'm not quite that old but the reruns came on all the time in the '80's on FOX 5 in Brooklyn And because I remember every damn lyric I've ever heard:

Oh we all tickle Mary because she giggles so
Yes we all tickle Mary, she sways from too to fro
We love to tickle Mary, to hear her say "tee hee!'"
But no one kisses Mary, 'cause Mary's got VD.

I don't remember Bunker singing it, but Ken Dodd used to. I am still trying to find clips of him tickling Samantha Fox with his Tickling Stick (a brightly coloured feather duster).
