pursue (my 1000th post:)

I knew this was going to be my 1000th post, and I wanted it to be significant. So I wrote a poem. I enjoyed creating this...I love the freedom of poetry and the power of words

pursue

you play with my fire
just to watch me burn
i imitate your icy cool
just like a lesson learned
you leave me truly spurned
like i have yet to earn
the right to live life clear
to never be concerned
the right to never question
how much it is i
really make you yearn
you swing so bold between
hot and cold
its clear that you possess
a tight locked hold
a deep control of all
your happiness
you love me hard and equal out
and eagerly withhold
i was left alone aglow
inside your raging fiery flames
you shut the heat off quick
as mine is left to be untamed
enjoy the thrill of chase
tease me just to bring me close
and then you hesitate
like you don't know my love can go
how long is that you think
that i will really wait
how many times do you think
that i will take your hanging bait
you make the madness stir
and spin inside my lovely gates
you think it does not spawn
a whirling swirling ugly hate
the times that i am on my own
to pause and contemplate
do you or don't you
will you or won't you
and what is it my fate awaits
i really think you really think
that i can't turn this down
turn your gorgeous darling smile
into unhappy worried frown
wait for you to cut me loose
or just keep me around
i hope so badly just to see
your smoldering ardor fester
i thought you really understood
how much i hate to pester
you love the way i want you
knowing that i want it too
how much i love to prove
the things your love can make me do
but don't forget the things
your love can also make me do
you play me cool, i play you cool
just like the golden rule
you spark my heat, i'll love you sweet
and make your life complete
but if it is you're not in need
then kindly let me be
please be so nice,
permit some space so
i can freely breathe
do you or don't you
will you or won't you
is this all a crazy fantasy
do you need to have my love
and is this loving truly true
is it that you really love me
or simply love the way
that i pursue?

I know just how that feels....

I had to read this poem again. My Gracious, I have some favorite lines now!
