I dug up this link from a post on the TMF made ages ago, mostly because I found it really interesting. Right now I'm reading a book by Chuck Palahniuk, which is what made me think of this. When I first submitted a few paragraphs from a story, Palahniuk was my result. This time when I submitted, my result was Harry Harrison, which also made me laugh. Quite the difference. Although I took this test using two very, very different writing styles and genres.


Just for fun, I typed in 'The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy black dog' and the result was Rudyard Kipling - the author of 'The Jungle Book' and other great novels and poetry.

It's just the first series I've read that dedicated each chapter to a specific character with a third person close view. I've been writing a book in that style, but I wouldn't say I necessarily write like Martin does.

Now I love my fantasy/historical fantasy, but I like making things more of a drama than an action-packed adventure like LOTR/Hobbit. I write about universal themes, love, war, religion, politics, life, death, and everything between and beyond but I like to put those themes into an otherworldly context. Martin, so far has been the best I've read, I just haven't stumbled across any others yet.

I apparently write like J. Joyce... the worst thing is, I never heard of this author before.
