I reckon this year people got into the Australia Day spirit more than ever. So many cars I saw flying Aussie flags, and I even saw a few houses with flags hanging from their balconies or in their windows.

One of the check-out girls at our local supermarket was wearing the Aussie flag as a cape while serving - just like a super hero!

It's great to see so much Aussie pride!

I think that might have something to do with the fact that people said we shouldn't show the aussie flag or say australia day, because it incites racism apparently. This is despite the fact we are actually IN australia interestingly. One of my friends said on a government website it was called citizen's day.

I decided this year to invite some other land masses along. We partied down with Antarctica, South America, Africa, Madagascar, The Arabian peninsula, India and New Zealand and had Gondwana Day. A 320 million year common heritage!
