This is just an introduction to the longer story (my first of hopefully many) that is currently in the works.
"International music artist found GUILTY of copyright infringement" read the headline. Katy Perry slumped in her seat as the verdict was read out in court. She had the temerity to feel cheated after she had paid a measly sum to Lily, the teenage girl that had worked tirelessly to compose a trio of songs that she hoped would propel her to stardom, in return for the girl's silence. Having been more or less coerced into accepting the money, the girl eventually plucked up the courage to publicise Miss Perry's actions.
The public was baying for blood, as was the music industry - which put Judge Campbell under extreme pressure leading up to the sentencing. However, one afternoon Mr Campbell's secretary knocked on the door, "Mr Campbell, I have 4 people here to see you, they don't have an appointment but I think you'll want to hear what they have to say".
"Okay Cheryl, let them in," replied the judge. He did a double take as first through the door was Rihanna, followed by 3 men in fine tailored suits. As the conversation progressed, it transpired that the 3 men accompanying Rihanna were from Katy Perry's record label. Rihanna, horrified by her friend's actions, had approached them with some intimate information about Katy and together they had formed a devious, ingenious plan for Miss Perry's punishment.
"You see Mr Campbell, our company is keen to use this embarrassing situation as an opportunity to regain some of the consumers' trust. Our idea for Katy's punishment will prove most uncomfortable for her whilst also demonstrating the kind of creativity that will restore the public's faith in the music industry," one of the suits asserted. "Rihanna came to us with some insightful personal information about Miss Perry. Apparently she has extraordinarily ticklish feet."
Mr Campbell shifted in his seat as this revelation piqued his interest.
"Our idea is that Miss Perry's feet should be tickled in 3 sessions, in the theme of the 3 songs she shamelessly stole. Her punishment could be broadcast on our music channel, which would help to generate greatly needed publicity for us after Katy's damaging actions."
"I love it, this sort of creativity is exactly what is needed here!" Mr Campbell enthused.
"And that's not all," continued the record label exec. One of our employees is good friends with a biologist specialising in nerve receptors. He has assured us he can provide a serum that will amplify the receptors in Miss Perry's already highly sensitive feet which, coupled with a thorough pedicure, should make her feet at least 20 times more ticklish."
"She'll be screaming like a banshee at the slightest touch to her ticklish soles," added Rihanna, who had been silent up to that point but sported a smug grin throughout.
Mr Campbell cancelled his other appointments for that afternoon as they set about planning the finer details of Katy Perry's excruciating and humiliating public punishment.
