ENews and Buzzfeed creator Maria Menounos was an active innovator and supporter of young women. She knew how hard she had to fight to achieve her level of success. Her on air partner and friend Catt Sadler was very supportive of this idea as well. The idea was “5 to watch under 25”. It was a way to acknowledge and promote young women who had talent and were flying a little or a lot under the radar. Or who aspired to things other than what the industry had pigeon holed them into. Out of that desire the 5 to watch was born.

The concept was simple. A panel discussion with 5 women and the audience would be primarily HS and college women wanting to be in the industry. The media was invited and Maria would host. The discussion would be based on both live and written questions from the internet and the audience. Selena Gomez and Arianna Grande were on the original list but had to decline based on Selena’s health issues and Arianna’s schedule conflict. So on a Saturday at the Bel Air Hilton the 5 young ladies listed above gathered for the Q n A. But they had gotten there the night before. And had the audience known that, the questions might have been very different.

FRIDAY EVENING

When each lady arrived there was a sealed invitation on their bed. It was from Ariel Winter. While the youngest of the group she quickly established herself as the leader of the fun. It said basically “We have a private pool on the roof top. Throw on a suit, or not, and get your cute asses up here”. Each girl smiled and welcomed the opportunity to meet the others before the panel discussion. Truth be known, while they had different levels of fame, success and exposure – there was not one women who knew all the other 4. And they were all appreciative of the chance to chill and get to know each other. Ariel had plans very much in that direction.

Chloe Bennet was the first to join. Ariel was already there. Chloe had a certain amount of fame for her role on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. But wasn’t nearly as tabloid friendly as Ariel.
When she entered the rooftop Ariel squealed. “I’m so glad you were included I LOVE Agents” and they hugged and she handed Chloe a margarita. Chloe was a bit taken aback .
