I just want to give everybody a book recommendation. I rarely do that, but I have just finished the best nonfiction book that I have read in this century. It is Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari.

So, not to spoil the book or anything, but does it say how far back our race's furthest sapien ancestor is that science acknowledges?

Yes, the early part of the book is a history of both our species (homo sapiens) and our genus (homo).
