Its easier and cheaper to keep warm then cool as well. We paid over a 1000 dollars for our electric bill in the hottest part of summer out here. So while the heat might sound fun and glorious its darn expensive. The winter is a lot cheaper.

There is advanced technology for cooling or heating that no one seems to have explored. It revolves around the fact that at any temperature there is a statistical distribution of molecules at various energies. What the device does it to seperate the low energy molecules from the high energy ones. Thus if you want heat you collect the high energy ones and put them in your room. You want cooling you put the low energy ones into your room. Very nice device. Was in Scientific American never seen anyone use it or explore it.

Well the Scientific American one was rather small but really just needs fans to move the air about from what I saw. Fans are not too pricey to operate usually about 170 watts for a big one vs 1350 watts lets say for my 15000 BTU AC. :D :D :p My guess is there is probably a problem scaling it up. Seems though people shouls at least research it. :(

It sounds very promising to me. In any mass of air, the temperature is a measure of the average kinetic energy of the molecules and some of them will, of course, be well above or well below average. :D :p
