Following the terrible homestand, the Good Guys had a poor road trip, and then returned to Paradise to start another homestand. The team's finances were a mess, and all the money owed to the players was tied up in the Bankruptcy proceedings. When the team took the field to begin the next homestand on a Friday night, there were less than 20,000 in the stands on a beautiful evening against the Mets, a team that the Good Guys would have drawn 30 or 40,000 for in the good days. Many of the fans were just fed up with the Good Guys dramatics, and they used the team as their personal whipping boards, booing them as they blew a lead and dropped the game in the 9th to the Mets. The team had a double digit deficit in the standings, and was very close to 500, and headed for oblivion. Of course, they knew of times when they had rebounded from double digit deficits after the All Star Break, as had the Braves on several occasions, to win divisions. They kept the goal at falling no more than 12 games out, and returning after the break with a fresh half of ball to play. Under normal circumstances, Lee Sniderman's job would have been in jeporady, but with all the team's other problems, firing the manager didnt seem to be the fix, as the death of Gardner, and the team's financial woes were the cause of the distraction, and it wasnt Sniderman's fault.
One night, the team had an embarrassing PR situation. A while back during the good times, they had tickled ravishing "Las Vegas" stars Molly Sims and Nikki Cox at one of their tickle parties. While on summer hiatus from their TV show, Cox and Sims returned for a Saturday evening game against the Phillies. Sitting in the stands, and being stared at by all, the two Las Vegas beauties became more and more inebriated and rowdy as they downed tropical drink after tropical drink. Finally, on a dare from a fan near them, both women took off their tops and flashed their ample bare breasts at the crowd, drawing hoots and hollers from single men in the crowd, and shock, horror, and cries of "Sluts" from the family members in the audience. The drunk Cox and Sims were escorted from the crowd. Some people even had the audacity to joke that despite the Good Guys poor play, there would be a sellout crowd on hand if Naomi ever decided to come into the stands and provide adult entertainment by exposing herself to the audience. The team that had so prided itself on its fine play and whistle clean image was being smeared like a pack of degenerate lowlives, and many were so upset that they threatened to quit and not return for the next season. The featured lee was an 18 year old female intern who was working in the team's front office that summer. She was tied hands and feet to the bed as the tickle started on her neck with fingers by her ler, the center fielder. Hehehehehehehehehehe! NO! Then, the outfielder moved down, tickling the attractive young front office girl on her sides, belly and underarms as more squeals filled the air: HeheheheheheheheheheheheheheeE! NO! Moving down, the outfielder tickled the girl on her inner thighs, causing her to buck. Finally, down to the soles of her pretty bare feet. The centerfielder tickled the attractive young girl on her soles with fingers, feathers and the electric toothbrush. This drove the intern beserk! She flexed, pointed and wiggled her toes every which way as she filled the room with hysterical girlish squeals, begging him to stop. Hehehehehehehehehehehehehehe! I give up! Please no more tickle! NO! NO! NO! Hehehehehehehehehehehehe! Finally, the tickle was stopped, and the intern rested.
The next afternoon, the Good Guys dropped another game before a steamy, booing crowd of close to 25,000. It was almost like the team was cursed, like they had forgotten how to win. Many players were so fed up that they talked of leaving the team, baseball, and the tickle community forever. It was a team in disarray, and it didnt seem to be getting any better.
