The Good Guys hit the road for a marathon two week road trip. It would be six cities, two weeks, and would be their final one of the year, after which they would be home the last ten days to try and close the door on another division title. The trip started in Montreal, where the team won two of three. Then, they went to New York, winning two of three again. After splitting two games in Philadelphia, they went to Atlanta, where they lost two of three, and then to Florida, where they split a pair of games, and finally on to Houston, where they won two of three. The 9-6 record on the 15 day, 5 city trip left the Good Guys two games behind both Philadelphia and Atlanta for the Eastern division title. The Paradise Islanders flew back to Paradise on September 19th to begin their final homestand of the year. They had survived the Marathon trip, and now needed to play good ball on the homestand to win a divisional crown.

Teams tied again, one game for all or nothing at all on Sunday. No one had any stomach left.
