The Good Guys embarked on a nine game West Coast road trip in late August. After losing two of three in San Francisco, they won two of three in both San Diego and Los Angeles. Mitch returned home in the wee hours of a Monday morning to begin a nine game homestand that would last into Labor day and past. When he got in, Naomi was still up, and they decided to order a pizza from an all night pizza delivery place. After the pizza came, as Naomi was trying to cut it, Mitch kept coming up behind her and tickling her sides so she could barely keep her balance.: Heheheheheehehehe! Hey, you husband! Gil Bellows followed Kate to the mound on Wednesday, and even though he allowed four runs and seven hits in seven innings, the team bashed out 18 hits that night, and won 8-5. Charlize Theron pitched on Thursday afternoon in front of a big crowd of over 35,000, and she tossed a gem, allowing but one run into the ninth, in a 3-1 victory.
Philadelphia came to town on Friday night, and Naomi was on the mound. She pitched a fine game, allowing but two runs into the eighth. Homers by Mitch and two others, gave her all the runs she needed, in a 5-3 triumph. The fifth starter took the hill on Saturday night before an announced crowd of 43,000, but all the big crowd did was boo as the Good Guys were never in the game, and dropped it, 6-1. Kate Hudson took her next turn on Sunday, and this time she got support early, as the Paradise Islanders erupted for nine runs in the first inning, en route to a 9-2 thrashing of the Phillies.
A thunderstorm on Monday night caused a postponement of the game with the Reds, and so on Tuesday, the teams played a doubleheader, with the Reds edging Gil Bellows in the opener, 1-0, but Charlize Theron rebounded in the nightcap, permitting just two runs over seven innings, in a 4-2 victory. There was a quick turnaround on Wednesday, as there was a noon time game, due to a camp outing day in Paradise. It was a blistering hot day, in the low 90s, and the ball was jumping. The Reds bolted out to a 5-0 lead, driving Naomi from the mound in the third inning, as she left to a chorus of boos. The Good Guys, however, fought back with seven runs over two innings to take the lead. The Reds would not go quietly, and first tied the game, and then took the lead. The Good Guys tied the score at 8 in the 8th, and then, in the ninth, with the crowd on it's feet, Mitch drove the first pitch he saw 400 feet for a game winning homerun and a thrilling 9-8 victory. It had been a long, hot day, but the team had prevailed, and now one more road trip came before starting the stretch run. It had been a fine homestand in spite of some tough games.
In the meantime, the team held it's Saturday night tickle party. The featured lee would be ESPN announcer Gary Thorne, in town to announce Sunday baseball for the network. The team got him to agree to being a lee by agreeing to donate any proceeds from that night's party at the fetish club to his favorite charity. The famous announcer, whose trademark call of "Goodbye, homerun" was known to all, was tied to the bed in the middle of the fetish club in his boxer shorts. The Good Guys male players razzed him:" Gary, being tickled may be annoying, but tonight you are going to get tickled by some very hot female assistants" Mitch said. With that, Naomi went to work on Gary's neck with fingers as he began to laugh: Hahahahahahaha! NO! Moving down, with Mandy Moore and Kate Hudson on either side of him, the mega famous announcer received the tickle from them on his underarms, sides, and ribs as more laughter howled from him and he began to thrash: Hahahahahahahahahahahaha! NO! Then. Mandy tickled Gary behind his knees, causing him to buck. Finally, Charlize Theron and Jennifer Love Hewitt positioned themselves at Gary's feet, and ran their fingers, a feather, and ice on his soles. Gary howled with laughter, and wiggled his toes. Hahahahahahahahaha! Oh no! Stop! NO! NO!Hahahahahahahahaha! He howled in his deep voice. After that, the tickle stopped and Gary was untied.
