Saturday proved to be an improvement for the Paradise Islanders. Charlize Theron took the mound, and allowed but one run into the ninth, in a 4-1 victory. Kate Hudson started the series finale on Sunday afternoon before a near sellout. She allowed three runs in eight innings, but the Good Guys had their hitting shoes on that day, and won 8-5.
St Louis invaded Paradise for the homestand's final series. Gil Bellows pitched the Monday opener, and did well, allowing two runs in seven innings, in a 4-2 win. Neve Campbell took her next turn on Tuesday. She struggled, allowing five runs into the sixth. The Good Guys rallied from a 5-0 deficit to tie the game, only to succumb in the ninth after taking the lead when Naomi and Mandy couldnt hold on. Melissa Gunther pitched the homestand finale on Wednesday afternoon in front of over 40,000 on a humid day. The Good Guys again started shakily, falling into a 4-0 hole. After ralling to tie the game, they fell behind again, only to finally win the game in the eighth on a homerun by the catcher Barney, 7-6. It had been a tough, hard fought homestand, but the result went well.
