as far as dictators or conquerors are concerned, who would you say possessed the most intelligence - notwithstanding their attempt at world domination, and such.
think of all the biggies: hitler, musselini; tsar nicholos; alexander the great; atilla the hun; napolean; etc.
i think its a toss up between hitler and napolean.

I don't know what his IQ was, but Fidel Castro was able to seize Cuba in a revolution and hold onto it. He ran that country his way a long time, even though he was all but at war with the United States, a super power less than 100 miles away.
One of the smartest (and evilest) things I've seen in my lifetime, he emptied his prisons of the worst, most violent criminals in Cuba. He did this by combining them with political prisoners and shipping the whole bunch off to the United States. Ol' Fidel knew which ones he arrested for murder and which for disagreeing with him, but we were largely unable to tell them apart.

id have to agree with sole and say its castro, his understanding of politics and american imperialism in latin america clearly prove this.
Also there is all he has done for his people and the world, healthcare, education, shelter, work, all a right, they even provide americans with free medical education and they have more doctors working around the world for free than any other nation.
political violence and repression compared to the us client states in the region is almost mute.
i dont think shipping off your criminals to a nation thats trying to destroy you for imperialist reasons is evil thought, however his mild repression of civil liberties is certainly an evil.

Ditto on Castro....You dont hold on to power that long as dictator if you lack intelligence....

Alexander the great, he had great militairy talent, and philosophic education... (heck, with your teacher being aristotle himself)
Hitler definitly not. Everytime that speed-addict meddled in militairy affairs things went horribly wrong

Because at one time he had a major league backer, now it's because his influence is on the wane and soon he'll die, so no one really gives a shit.
Stalin was by far the most intelligent of the dictators. After his stupid military purge of the 30s he learned, adapted and turned the USSR into a major power.
No one else even comes close.
