Well, the Liberals have been given one more term under Prime Minister Paul Martin. It is a minority government however, and the Conservatives will have a much larger role in parliament. As it stands at present, the Liberals have 37% of the parliament, followed by the Conservatives with 30%. Not surprisingly, the majority of Quebec voted for the separatist Bloc Quebecois, comprising 13% of parliament.

I am happy with the results, as not one of these parties deserved a majority - not to mention, the thought of Steven Harper running the Country I find a scary thought. But with almost 100 seats to the Liberals 135, there should atleast be some balance in the decision making.

I honestly think Paul Martin will be good for Canada. As for Quebec going with the Bloc Quebecois, did you expect anything else? What amazes me when I talk with folks from Quebec (I live on the US/Quebec border, so it's a mish-mash of people up here)...is that they want to separate, but still want to use the same money. As Robin Williams once said, that's like your 20-year-old kid moving out of the house but still wanting an allowance.
