I cant really say I'm a "fan" now, but I would say that they used to be a pretty big part of my life, or at least my parents lives. I know I've mentioned this in here before, but dont know if you were around to hear it. My father, Alan Cohen, used to be Kiss' CPA and business manager from 1973 to 1980. He would travel all around the country with them to their concerts, and my mom and him would attend all of their local concerts. As for me, I do recall attending a couple of their concerts with my parents at Madison Square Garden in NY and sitting in the front row.
My Kiss "moment" was a personal one in my fathers office. At some point or another, I had met all of the members of the group. One day, I had gone to the office with my father, and he introduced me to Peter Cris. This is a classic moment, because of what I did. I recall saying something like "Nice to meet you, Mr Cris, but who I would really like to meet is the tongue" (Gene Simmons) of course, and then I stuck out my tounge at Cris! Granted I was probably only about 5 or 6 at the time, and of course my father was humiliated and probably ready to kill me, but luckily Cris was a nice guy and just laughed. At that point, I hadnt met Gene Simmons yet, but my mom told me of another meeting with them that I cant recall, and she told me that I asked Gene to show me his tongue, and he did! LOL!
So, I guess you could say I've had several classic Kiss moments. Oh, and by the way, for documentation that my father REALLY knew Kiss, there is a book called "Kiss and Sell" written by a man named CK Lendt. On page 153 of that book, there is one sentence about my father. It states how when their manager, Bill Aucoin's, credit card was cancelled, my father helped to finance Kiss in their early days on tour, and that when Aucoin lost his credit card, my father, Alan Cohen, gave Bill and Kiss his card to use.
That's my Kiss story. I dont know if it's what you were looking for, but I'd say it was an interesting twist that was probably unexpected.

As a kid, KISS were my favorite superheros. Better than the Justice League. I have always been a fan, though I'll be honest I am mainly a fan of, what I guess you could call "Classic Kiss". The original lineup between the years 1974 to about 1980 I guess. I listen to some of the stuff since then and it simply isn't the same. Maybe I am being closed minded, but that's the way it is. I will say this, Gene Simmons always kind of scared me. Knowing more about the man behind the makeup, it isn't a surprise that I was scared. Gene is definately an evil genius. And we wouldnt want it any other way!
