....Europe need only three points from an available twelve today (sunday) to take the Ryder Cup once again!

since when did you care about golf? Since europe are close to winning, I'm guessing! Same as the way Australian people only give a shit about power-walking and shooting at the olympics (which, by the way, we kicked ass at)

ROFLMAO!

I watch the Ryder every other year and I must say that our American golfers are awesome when playing by themselves and awful at team play...

They just dont share the limelight well.....

YES! Nice one Monty! If I was going to pick one player to win it, it'd have been him, especially considering the awful year he's had in his private life. Now if only the rest of 'em can bring their games home as they are right now, that's a damn good result for the 'underdogs'. And maybe this will FINALLY put the disgrace of the 1999 Ryder Cup in Brookline in the history books where it belongs. I've got to wait for the highlight show in an hour or so unfortunately but I presume the American fans behaved themselves this time round?

(For those that don't know, that particular Ryder cup saw American fans spitting on the wife of one of the European players, heckling the players, one of the European caddies got blindsided in a Boston bar, and of course the American team decided to hold a mass celebration on the 17th green during the last game after Justin Leonard sank his 45 ft put. Problem was his European rival still had to take his 25 ft shot which is dificult when most of the American team has just stomped over your line. Golf? More like the WWE)

....well done to the European team and to Monty for sinking the winning putt!

Funny how I have suddenly gone all pro Europe dont you think? just because "we" beat the Americans at something?

The U.S. fought back very well but the damage was done on the first day and the U.S. captain has some questions to answer pairing Tiger with Phil Mickelson, who hate each other.

One has to question the committment of one or two American players. Woods looks like he does not give a toss most of the time (apart from when HE has sunk a monster putt) he comes across as the golfing equivalent of Jimmy Conners, but at least Tiger turns up.Also, Mickelson decided to turn up to the tournament with a brand new set of clubs, having fallen out with his main sponser over money, and guess what? he starts the tournament spraying the ball over Michigan state. Sutton should have kicked his sorry ass off the team.

It's probably difficult to focus when your mind is really on what to invest in with the last few million you won for hitting a little white ball so close to a stick.....

I'm amazed anyone showed up at all for it. Must be endorsements at stake.

The golfers are like their country then. :D :bouncybou :dogpile: :couch:

What really impressed me was that we won it without all the players wives holding an impromptu line-dancing contest on the middle of the green, just as an American golfer was about to line up an important putt. :D

.....there is only one thing worse than a bad looser, and thats a bad winner, but to be fair to the U.S. galleries, they have been very much better this time in defeat, as have the U.S. players. Lets not forget they dont have the vast experience that we do in International sporting failure, but on the other hand the U.S. rarely soil their hands with international team sports.

Good point Indy, no-one has ever had as much practice at being graceful losers as us. :cry1:
