Well, I started coloring this one yesterday and ended yesterday. About midway through the coloring process I noticed that my choice of colors (which were purely coincidental) starting looking like the color motiffs that make up the character Mara Jade. A coincidence, but a happy one. Also, you'll notice (though it's obscured) the Imperial symbol as the background.

I thought that the color of it went well with the other colors and the design worked for this picture. I'm not sure however if I intend to keep this character as a rogue Jedi, or a Sith. I'm leaning more towards her being a Sith, but given future characters (some of whom will definitely be Jedi), she may become neutral or even allign herself with the Jedi. We'll have to wait and see.

Basically she's being hesitant to deliver a death blow to an enemy she's bested. As a Sith, to hesitate is very telling of her character. Why does she hestitate? More to come...

This is an original character which is of course © copyright to me.

All other themes are © copyright Lucasfilm.

Enjoy. ^___^

:D I like it! I really do! ::star wars geek:: :rolleyes:

I like how you do the glow effect reflecting off of her. My only complaint is her ear...it looks more like that it's a really cold day than the lightsaber reflecting off.

Maybe she's hesitant cause her opponent picked up a feather? :devil:

:D I too like the glowing effect of the saber. The highlights in the hair are another nice touch. The glowing blue in the Imperial symbol is cool too. :D

@ Kelptomaniac- Hello, welcome to the site. I see you're new or have been a lurker until now.

Thanks alot. I'm glad you like it. As for the ear, well, my logic was that the darker places where the luminiance of the blade didn't completely touch, that those places would have a purple hue. Thats why its on one side of her face and in her ear.

I can see though how it seems like a mistake.

Thanks for posting, and again, welcome. ^__^

@ rajee- Thanks alot man. Glad you like it. ^^

I'm pretty fortunate. This is only my second time drawing a jedi/sith type character. The first one I didn't even take seriously, it was just a crossover into Star Wars (the Love Hina picture of Mutsumi as a Jedi if you recall).

This one however is obviously different. Its my first picture in a while, and I really like how the saber came out for a first try. I honestly thought I might screw it up somehow.

As a Star Wars and Vader fanatic... well done!
Would love to see her tickled (;
The manga style is very fitting. Ever tried doing Vader? (hint hint) :D

Thanks. ^__^

(Tickled, we'll see)

I haven't drawn lord Vader yet, but I intend to, in all his phases, both as young Ani- slave, Anakin Skywalker- padawan learner, Anakin Skywalker- jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker- jedi knight, Anakin Skywalker- darth.

If I can spare the time I want to draw all of the characters, though I doubt I'll get to them all any time soon. For now I'll just draw my favorites.

The fact he's one of your favourites just rose you 2 steps in the ranks of my favourite artists (;

Thats nice to know, but how is that fair to the others exactly? I didn't even do anything. If you're this impressionable, I wonder why the others are where they are in your rankings and what they did...or didn't do to get there. :p
