Hi,
Although he's likely not to read it as he's still very popular at the moment, I sent an email to Michael Moore last night detailing the epiphany I just had.
Like many citizens of this country under the current corporate administration, I have a job in a part time position, as only management are considered full time. And as the store I work at has an hour budget with strictly no overtime, we get a set number of hours to share out per week. The managers must work 40, so the leftovers are shared among the rest of us. I makle barely enough to stay alive. My co-clerks have 2nd and 3rd jobs and are still trying to make ends meet.
The good news is that I work at Blockbuster video.
Now, if you are a video store clerk , for the next 3 weeks you will have power beyond what you thought your position possible. It souns stupid enough to be mentioned on Bill O'Reilly, but there are 2 big political battled being fought right now. One is with the debates swaying undecided voters. The other is at video stores with us swaying the same voters with our recommendation of Fahrenheit 9/11, which came out on Tuesday, October 5th. There are hundreds of thousands of video stores across the country, enough to make a change if the clerks used their power of movie recommendation, which is an influential power every Friday and Saturday night. This time, it can be used to take back the country and help us get a better deal with our job than Bush's unregulated capitalism is crapping on us with right now.
Think about it. Whether it's Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, Movie Gallery, whatever! If you work for them at the store level, you will have immense influential power over the next 3 weeks. USE IT!!!
