If you were, say, boneheaded enough to not be paying attention while trying to open a file you'd downloaded, and forgot to UNCHECK the box that says "Always use this program when viewing this type of file", how can you go in and fix that? I've got files I can't view because I picked the wrong media viewer, and now it picks that one every time!

Open the explorer and find a file you can't open - right click - select "open with..." from the popup dialogue - find working media viewer in list - check "always open this file type..." box - click okay.

Well, I may not know my way around computers all that much, but I CAN'T be doing this wrong... can I? When I right click, "Open" is in the task window that pops up, but not "Open With..." :( And when I Open it, it keeps trying to do it with the wrong one, just like I told it to do...

Hi. It is really easy to change it back. You open Windows Explorer and go to Extras > Folder Options. That is assuming you have XP. I think Windows 98 had it under "View". Just look around, you'll find it.
Then, go to the file types tab, and look for the file extension you'd like to change, like .jpg for example.
Then click on "Change" to select another program.
Or click on "Restore" to restore the default setting.
That's it :)
