How do you know he isn't a Republican? Or a Christian? Evidence?

If there is one thing that Bush has proven about his take on Christianity, its that religion can be twisted into whatever meglomaniacal ego trip you wish. Just ask the Islamic Fundamentalists.

Really. Or the whackos who think Christ wants them to bomb abortion clinics or beat up homosexuals with baseball bats.

I think it's great that more Republicans are siding with Kerry. I had a discussion with a friend about the upcoming election. I told him that I was voting for Kerry. He said that Kerry was going to spend less on the military and defense, so he was voting for Bush. What is my friend's occupation? He works for a company that builds missiles. He's voting for Bush so that his job will be safe. I shuddered at that thought.

FF, unfortuantely, far too many people are like that. They vote only for themselves, and their pocketbook or financial situation, instead of for the greater good.
Not to get all religious, but here is a fundamental thought about Bush that makes his religious stance to me, full of it. Think of the fundamental teachings of Christianity and Christ. Jesus Christ, while born Jewish, was a champion for the poor, downtrodden, and helpless. He devoted his life to teaching good, helping others, and raising up the hopeless. Bush, while claiming he is a "Christian", and preaching about God, and "one man, one woman", could really give a rat's rump about the downtrodden, poor, helpless, and underprivliged. His policies benefit the wealthy, powerful, "haves" and such. This is against the teachings of Christ, and of God. I despise people that are hypocritical, and to me, Bush is just that. Dont stand here and preach Christianity to me when you have policies such as Bush does.
This is one of the many reasons I hope Bush is defeated next Tuesday. We need a president who cares about the needs of the downtrodden, and the middle class, instead of one who is only for the interests of the powerful.

Not to worry, folks... Zell Miller has started his own Democrats for Bush website, but he seems to have forgotten what URL he chose for it...

You guys reminded me of a pretty funny satirical comic from Mad Magazine:
<i>"What if Bush was Running Against Jesus?"</i>

Maybe it's been posted here before, but if not...

That post of "What if Bush was running against Jesus" was absolutely priceless, I loved it. No doubt that Bush would have "Branded" Jesus a "flamming" liberal ready to do America in.

Ray, are you suggesting that Bush doesn't care about his own power grab? Ray, please come back to earth, we miss you down here.

It's hard to take a nap when you make little "quips" like that, that's equal to four cups of coffee, LOL.

Kerry belongs to the Kenedy dynasty...only reason he is running for president is for power and status. His record in the Senate over the last 20 years shows where his nose has been.

my quip...just to show how silly all of this is New....planet earht?

One must reside there in order to call another back.

Venray, I remind you that over the last 40 plus years, the liberal Democrat Kennedys have a record of being among of the most liberal and caring Democrats in politics. Look at FDR. The man was as rich as Midas, and he truely cared about all citizens, Democrat and Republican, as he brought us out of a depression and through a war. Carter was a millionaire, and cared about people. Many Democrats in politics have made their fortune, and choose to represent the middle class as Kerry and Kennedy have. It is far better than being rich like Bush and only caring about oil, the wealthy, and big business. To me, guys like Kerry and Kennedy who have political leanings as they do demonstrate social conscience, where as guys like Bush 43 and Cheney who only care about the rich do not. Only my two cents.

Mitch..let me clarify..I speak mostly of Ted Kenedy....not those that served the American people with compassion, but the one who ran and let a woman drown to protect himself and his political carreer... Caring? only about himself...and that is who John Kerry admires and looks up to....

Bobby K would have been the best of the bunch as president....he cared about all people not just the rich, just the white, or just males. He was someone to look up to.....

Kerry is no Bobby Kennedy.....nor is Ted...

Kerry is no FDR either....nor will he ever be.

In 4 days the people will cast their votes. If it is close the lawyers will end up fighting the battle in court and the courts once again will have the final say. Sad to say the least, but if enough of us are tired enough we will go out and vote and none of that will be necessary as the vote will not be close at all.

If Bush wins, he will be watched closely and have to fix the mess in Iraq while continuing to improve the economy....

If Kerry wins he can do just about anything he wants and blame the former administration when his "plans" dont come to fruition.

It is up to us to decide which way is better at this moment in time.
I dont want a politician taking over the White House and experimenting with our lives....4 years from now perhaps, but not now. And even 4 years from now I would not vote John Kerry in....

Ray, yes it can be silly (by-the-way, earth is spelled e-a-r-t-h. Your conservative "rocket booster pack" does work and you're now "in Bush orbit". However, your reentry is going to be uncomfortable come November 2nd.

It's funny you should mention that... that sounds remarkably similar to what Bush did when the shit hit the fan on 9/11. He blamed Clinton for dropping security measures when Bush's own administration did the same before 9/11.
