Actually, depending on the words you speak, your spoken words CAN be a crime, a legal one. Insults spoken are a form of assault. Lies are the basis of grift, all of which is criminally prosecutable.

Speaking out against this country with the words of allegiance to an enemy is treason, a high crime.

There's all kinds of words spoken that can be criminal.

As for stating whether or not one has perpetrated any such crimes, so far, it seems, no one is dumb enough, here, to implicate themselves in writing. We're apparently evolutionarily higher up than the dumb ones.

Why are you bothering to respond? Scott has freely admitted with perverse pride that he not only refuses to pay attention to what other people say to him, he feels that we should not even attempt to dispute the Divine Wisdom he is privy to.

Yeah, Scott's Christo-pimpin' had riled me a bit, but, as I've so many fine friends of that range of faiths, I'll not let the folly of religious marketing mar the pleasant company I enjoy. As is illustrated throughout this thread, folks hockin' a faith, especially in a forum based as ours is, aren't so bright.

I pull towards faiths based on love, as the communities therein are more desirable, and the people kinder and friendlier. Love don't have t'pimp itself.

Neither do chocolate chip cookies. Daumantas called out my favs already. ;) Even Scott can't mar the deliciousness of Tollhouse chocolate chip cookies. This, I believe, proves he's not evil. Truly evil folks could malign the fineness of such a cookie, and indeed could besmirch the much-vaunted oatmeal variety.

I've no notion of these snickerdoodle thingies, but if Q values 'em so highly, they can't be bad.

First I want to say that I DO NOT feel that any type of religious PREACHING is appropriate on this forum and that Scott should refrain from doing such.

The responses here to Scott's posts are quite hostile and seem to resemble flaming. My question is, why are these responses accepted and allowed to remain here, while the merest negative post about a member elsewhere on the board is removed immediately?

Just an observation, but it seems like a double standard. If TMF is a flame free forum, it should be flame free.

As a realtive newbie participant here surfing the boards, I actually thought it was sorta cool to see a thread on religion in progress. My advice is, if you're not interested, don't read it. Otherwise, as long as its in the right forum, why not let those inclined to argue religion and morality go at it? It's not even too far a stretch to say its on topic for the overall forum.

I was a little sorry to see whatsisname go, actually. I even learned a new thing from one of his posts -- namely, the reference to Medjudg, er... Merdgjud, well... that one thing he said.

Anyway, I'm ok letting the moderators figure it out. That's why they get paid the big bux, right? :D

About a month ago we had just such a thread going in the (at that time) only forum, titled "Religion/Evil/Tickling/Guilt or some such grandly pretentious title of my choosing..lol. It had 100's of responses and thousands of "looks"! But....enough of the same material gets to be bit much. To continually repeat this thread without a period of introspection and a chance to allow new voices to come to the fore seems silly, ya know? That is why, despite appearances, all is NOT as it seems at times in here. The history of this discussion and some of the jabs goes back quite a ways, and many of the forum members are tired of the current line. As has been said before, however, it is your choice and feel free to use it wisely! :) Hi Jen, BTW...and I didn't notice any nasty flames...have they been deleted? Q

and I have a great recipe for Tickledoodles! With the coconut it tickles all the way down....

ready?

1 box of brownie mix
1/4 cup of oil
2 eggs
handful of coconut


Mix it all up and drop by spoonfuls onto a cookie sheet.

Bake at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes. Check them and if they need another minute give it to them! You will love them! Sprinkle with powdered sugar and they are sure to tickle many a palette.
Add generous amounts of milk!

NJJen - the response to Scott, in this thread, after re-reading them, don't seem like flames to me. They seem vehement in their disagreement. They seem opposed. They don't seem hostile, barbed or malicious, though. Is there something in particular that offends you?

If you'd not like to vent such here, do feel encouraged to mail me. I'm interested in knowing, more specifically, what was meant by your comment.
