Damn...just had to install a new CD-Rom on Moms computer...cheapest one I could find in a hurry was about $35! 52x is about 3 times the speed she needs...lol, but it was all the stores had...gotta go back to stockpiling parts from the net again! Where have all the $10 CD readers gone!?!? The world has gone mad!

Working in the computer biz, it's called "forced obsolesence," i.e. making you buy more expensive stuff all the time. LOL. At least I can get a small break from the company.

Found some in the expected price range on E-bay.....won't make that mistake again! Actually, in all the years I've been tinkering with computers, that's the first CD-Rom I've ever had to replace! Usually foolproof, but my dad is.."special"...lol. Q
