Seems like almost everyone has to take the M-B profile for some reason these days. I never put much stock in such things, but after seeing the feedback from one of these several years ago, I got a little more interested. Some of the insights were downright spooky.

Anyway, I'm an INTP. The documented INTP profile pegs me to a tee. My wife's an INTJ. She always says my P-ness drives her crazy. Funny, she picks the oddest times to tell me that... :)

I'd be interested to see others' profiles in the forum, if you know them.

I was going to add a link for background, but there are so many. If you're curious, just put "Myers-Briggs" in any search engine and off you go.

Jeez, Quinn, y'dusted off an OLD memory for me, brother. Ain't touched one of those in years.

I have two results. I used to be ENTJ before my first stroke. Afterwards, I tested as ENFP. Trippy, but true. The neuropsych doc says that such isn't uncommon in the case of strokes.

Not sure it's $0.02 worth,

There have been a couple of studies recently that have shown that less than 50% of those taking the MBTI will retain the same personality type over a 5-6 week period. These studies would, at least initially, give indication that there is nothing trippy about your experience at all as 1 of every 2 people will have a different personalty type score within 5 weeks. Kinda makes one ponder the validity or at least the reliability of either the test or the environment in which it's administered.

Sorry to hear you suffered a stroke... I hope you are recovering/have recovered well.

I've seen MB variants used as part of job-aptitude self-tests. It struck me as being useful mainly to give structure to the self-assessment process, and not to provide any great insight. Past that, it seems more like a party game than a valid diagnostic tool.

Mine's "OGOF" - Opinionated Grumpy Old Fart.

ESTP...

But that only means that I should be a police negotiator or businessman. I picked businessman...lol. Q

Thank you kindly for the kindnesses regarding the strokes. Yeah, there's two of the little f****rs. I'm reasonably well. They're great motivators, strokes are.

As for the variations, I'd not heard such, but it doesn't surprise me much. For folks on boundaries with the MBTI, such a slip wouldn't be uncommon. It'd be interesting to know what the degree of variation was. Where the folks swingin' wide, or just within a 5 percent margin. I do recall the original did account for such. Then again, the original is a good bit more complicated that those used presently in many circumstances. Still, if you've the time, and can mail me whatever details you've got, I'd dig readin' it.
